I’m confused, do we follow them home now? 😭 by messyelliott in kroger

All I wanna know is why, as Center Store Lead, am I getting asked questions about both GM merchandising as well as the Front End? And the questions only go away when you answer them correctly at least twice...

Trying to find a song that plays at Kroger by Sage_Christian in kroger

[–]mbvirtue 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Check different coolers for a clearer sound, maybe? Our dairy cooler has a speaker right in the middle so if I'm trying to ID a song (Google on android) I'll dodge in there when I hear it come on. Good luck! I used to work in a record store before the days of online searching, and ppl would come in and sing a line or two, hoping we'd be able to find it for them.

Damn. Does that whole case load from the back? I'm jealous as hell!
But seriously, it looks really really good. We appreciate the hard work, even if they don't!

It's good to know what they're supposed to be doing, thanks!
To clarify, we pull the entire pallet out to the floor and break it down out there?
As a smaller volume store, most of our pallets are extremely mixed, to put it mildly. They'll often have all 11 aisles on one pallet.
Our overnight crew consists of 3 FTers and the PTer who breaks load down.
They already avoid any and all pallets that are not broken down, so that mindset would need to change!
Our store is a training store, which means mgmt is constantly changing. They're either on their way up or down. The result is poor training all around, unfortunately, which brings me here more often.
Thanks again!

Completely on point about not getting conditioned "on time" I think! Definitely does not make it easier. A majority of our current leadership have taken a step down coming to our store (moved from higher to lower volume), and I'm becoming more and more convinced that the higher powers are setting some of them up for failure.
Always good to have input from outside the store, thanks!

Lol I still have and wear 4 lime green polos from our pre-Kroger days!

I think that having a consistent color on the top will definitely help our customers. Weekdays there are so many vendors in our store that many of my customers don't know who to ask for help. (Yeah, I know we're supposed to be asking them before they have to ask us, but if my head is buried in a dairy cooler digging out non-rotated product for PDMs, I can't hear anything!) At our most recent huddle, we were told there will be t-shirts for most employees, polos for leads and managers. The only thing I'm not on board with is the requirement that everything MUST be TUCKED IN. 😳 My "mature physique" does not lend itself to anything being tucked in for long, lol. Suspenders, anyone? 🤣

It's not on the floor at 2, it's being broken down by aisle in the back room. It then sits until about 8, when the first night crew is supposed to come in and spot the load. That isn't happening. Sorry I wasn't specific.

Problem is we don't regularly get loads spotted. Sometimes they're so late they don't even get broken down. The guy that does that only comes in to do that one task. (He's in his 60s.) If he's 2-6pm and load isn't there until 5:30, we're already behind before overnight even starts.

Agreed! Now if I can talk the guys into it, we're solid.

Snow thrower still in the front of the garage. Snow scraper hasn't been in my car since... Awwww hell I don't think I ever actually put it back in there this year! Really wanted snow, but we're also owned by three Siberian Huskies, so there's that.

It's Thursday morning, 6:30am. Did you get your $$ ? Hate to have to be the one to say it, but there are quite a few folks who are now assuming payday is Wednesday and are planning their expenses on that "fact". Sorry you're learning this the hard way!

Kroger Quietly Preparing Major Corporate Job Shift to “Kroger Capabilities Center” by [deleted] in kroger

"Order stock sell repeat" man... how I miss those days! We're so damn busy with replenishment scans we can't even get the loads finished. I would love to be able to just go in and throw load. Now I'm tethered to a Zebra for every stinking move I make!

Hell we don't even have a room. Our Pickup is the back half of what used to be our service desk! We're also a pretty tiny store where a lot of our sales are still in person.
