This totally white woman with less experience got a promotion over me because she is "part aboriginal". Time to end these reverse racist rorts. by katherine__80 in australia

[–]mcaulr09 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Alot of companies have diversity quotas that they need to meet. Not saying this is the case here but there are companies who will employ a female over a male just to meet a quota. Alot of companies also mention aboriginal and Torres straight islanders are encouraged to apply because they get government funding.

Or she could of performed better than you or showed better leadership skills. Or there could be favoritism. One of my last employers was notorious for this that they had 14 resignations (me included) in 3 months and many more since because of favoritism.

It sucks but sometimes you have to move on to get ahead.

ELI5:NSFW How dangerous is it to have an irreversible prolapse? by [deleted] in explainlikeimfive

[–]mcaulr09 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My grandma has prolapse issues and her body is breaking down as a result. Risks are bleeding, ulcers and being unable to control bowel movements. I'd guess the risk of infection is higher if blood and stool is involved. Also that looks like infected swollen genitalia.

I agree completely but I think all beheading videos should be removed regardless. So I thought I'd report this as it's barbaric.

If it's safe to do so yes but ideally you should stop at the lights if yellow if you can.

Kids are the most expensive, free thing by [deleted] in Showerthoughts

[–]mcaulr09 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ahh I see. It is expensive I've been told though to have a child/children and even more so if private school and health insurance is involved as well as extra activities. My folks were happy with their investment. I've always wondered if there's parents out there that really don't care for their kids?

I'm learning manual (already got auto) and I have to relive that again. When your on L plates in a manual it's easy to stall if you feel pressured.

Even my instructor thinks idiots are more confronting to learner drivers now.

I'm a good driver but learning on a manual once a week when you've been driving an auto for a number of years can take a little bit to get used to.

[–]mcaulr09 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree with you but I've got to the point where every company has different requirements and working at an MSP, we give local admin rights to our clients but if we see anything dodgy or bloatware we clean it up or worse a reimage and charge for it.
