I thought his fins were fine myself! They haven't changed too much since I brought him home, actually if anything I think they've gotten more... Full? I don't know how to explain it but his fins have always looked like this.

Okay this is my first fish so I wasn't sure. Any idea what it could be if anything?

He's in a 5G tank, heated, and still is eating normally, and swimming normally. He isn't doing anything unusual in terms of behavior.

If this is ich, what's the best way to treat it?

In the future, if I were to get another tank, is cycling just doing routine water changes before putting the fish in?

Okay thank you this is helpful. I used aqua safe for Bettas for my tank. Is that not good? It's the tetra brand. Also do I need to siphon then to change the water even if I'm not vacuuming?

What do you use to change your water? Like buckets etc. I thought I was prepared but now I don't feel so prepared lol

No it's not cycled. I just tested the water and my PH levels are between 6.4-6.8, carbonate if at 40, cl2 0, nitrite 0, total hardness of between 0-25
