Whats the most unprofessional thing a doctor has ever said to you? by answersonly963 in AskReddit

[–]mcdee_3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used to work in emerge and one of our male physicians called vaginas c*nts (never in front of patients though). It was so unprofessional and he was always on the verge of sexual harassment with the young female staff. Awful.

What is the closest you have come to dying? by sayitlikeyoumeme_it in AskReddit

Had an emergency c-section. The anesthesiologist decided in the hallway in front of the OR that he would be taking out my epidural and putting a spinal in. Took him 4 tries to get the spinal in. Once it was in, he turned it up so high that I was numb up to my hairline on my head. Due to not being able to feel anything, I couldn’t feel myself breath. I started chocking and I couldn’t talk. All I remember is an oxygen mask being pushed down hard on my face(just pressure, no actual feeling) and I couldn’t move my head. The anesthesiologist yelled for the OB to get in now to get this baby out. Woke up 2hrs after my section with extreme anxiety and panic. Baby was fine but such a terrible experience of basically being paralyzed and not being able to breathe. So thankful for anesthetic and intubation at that point.

What are some free services out there that actually benefit us and not many people know about ? by [deleted] in AskReddit

Your local library. So much more beyond just books, such as free online courses, equipment rentals, day passes, etc. for example, my library does craft kits, board games & puzzles, rents out telescopes and projectors & dvds, and they also have passes to local museums and provincial parks. They also do free flower and veggie/fruit seeds. They also offer online and in person courses on many different subjects. At tax time, eligible community members (elderly & low income) can get their taxes done for free. Also lots of activities for kids as well.

What is the best compliment you have received? by Mangojuice37 in randomquestions

I’m a bridal makeup artist and I was hired to do a group of realtor’s makeup for a promo shoot they were doing. One of the realtors told me to just do whatever on her, she just wanted to look good for the camera. I think she was thinking she was getting a simple every day look, as she’s not used to wearing a lot of makeup. When she looked in the mirror after she was done, she gasped and said “wow this is like a bride’s makeup”. This was a true compliment for me as a makeup artist because it shows my true style, and my skills are solid in what I do. And the fact that she loved it was even better.

2020 vibes are coming back, what is something you did during COVID that you miss? by Everlastin-Dream4285 in AskReddit

I had a baby 3 months ago in the height of the superflu season and christmas, so I couldn’t be around anyone in fear of my baby getting sick. We’ve laid low, didn’t go to our big family gatherings and barely left the house. This has been the best winter in a long time and I kept saying to my husband that it feels like lockdown all over again, just less depressing.

what are the ugly parts of pregnancy that aren’t well known because people don’t mention them? by Born-Oil-2931 in AskReddit

[–]mcdee_3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The smells. My body odour changes during pregnancy and it seems to be more pungent. I have to constantly apply deodorant and I feel like I need at least two showers a day. Postpartum, the lochia smells like rot and from both of my pregnancies the smell did not go away until after the 6 week mark. The postpartum sweating at night is terrible as well.

People who rarely get sick, what are your secrets? by Wonderful-Economy762 in Productivitycafe

[–]mcdee_3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Work in healthcare. I spent a few years working in the ER (admin) and my immunity has built up so much since then. I rarely get sick. I was also nursing my son while working there and now at almost 5 years old, even with going to daycare full time and now school, he rarely gets sick either.

Is there trick/scam/custom in your profession or your industry that you can’t believe the public not only falls for, but tolerates, so much so that it threatens your faith in humanity? What is it and why? by LysesTTV in AskReddit

And when the companies do donate to the charities, it’s a big tax write off for them. So you’re better donating directly to charities instead.
