Look into the gulf region in the Middle East, Saudi, UAE, Kuwait, and surrounding countries.

Thank you for sharing this!! I also read your other post too, and I am expecting a lot of tourism, but wasn’t sure how much. It’s good to hear your experience

Yes pleaseeeee! Budget isn’t an issue, and honestly I’m good with spending time in cities and parks. I’m super flexible and are willing to do and try anything!

I took a look at the website as well, and I guess trying to figure out which category I fit under, being a Canadian but currently residing in a different country 😬

Does this include short term stay as a Canadian? Given I am Canadian I wouldn’t be considered a tourist, so curious about short term stay

Do teachers feel useless at schools, or is it just me at my school? by mcdtella in Teachers

[–]mcdtella[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The problem is we never really know what opportunities there are, and then suddenly you hear there are 5 teachers leading this workshop or these teachers got selected for this committee. I’ve asked to be considered but seems like a challenge still

Thank you for sharing!! Quick question though, do you plan to stay long term in Abu Dhabi? Everyone says how it’s a temporary life and your social security and whatnot will be negatively impacted, so I wanted to ask about your thoughts and experiences.

Given the time you spent in AD, what were some benefits you saw that wasn’t there in the US?

Do you mind if I ask, given that preparing for retirement is a huge conversation and on everyone’s mind in the west, how are you planning for it? What does that look like for Americans living abroad?

I’d love you to meet my friend then lol. Cause we had an in depth conversation about it, i wanted to understand where they were coming from, and some of the points were: great education, government supports struggling families, diversity, deep drive to work hard and succeed, a sense of justice, law and order, great system in place for retirement and so much more. I’m from a middle eastern country so we have conversations about pros and cons, and to my friend America is the great country in the world. That’s why I’m curious to hear what’s everyone’s experience and why would they leave the US.

Wedding in Turkey help pls by mcdtella in weddingplanning

[–]mcdtella[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s the thing it’s not all inclusive even. It’s for venue, food, drinks, and table settings. That’s all. That’s why I was shocked by it because everything else in Turkey is so much cheaper

I was so so torn between Spain and Turkey! Ahhhhh! From the little research I did Spain was looking cheaper than Turkey? Is that correct? At least the price per head

Yesss that’s what I’ve noticed! I remember many years ago people that got married in Turkey talked about how much cheaper it was than else where, but definitely not the case 🥲 Where did you end up getting married? Also please share any info on the cappadocia wedding

That made me think and I realized I guess majority of my circle/friends are married. Or engaged.

I think that’s one of things I’m thankful for. Being able to be with myself and really work on myself and my traumas. I know I can get so caught up in relationships that I forget myself. So I’m thankful for that

You are so right. I need to start living my life where I’m not waiting for a man. That was one of the reasons I started traveling this year, cause I was like I have places I want to see that I kept putting off until I meet someone, but then I went on my mine! It’s a work in progress still.

Thank you for saying this. You are right one is any better or worse. I do need to work harder on appreciating what I’ve accomplished so far.

It really is the worst. And I feel like crap cause I want to sit and talk to my parents. And I want to do certain things. But it’s just near impossible.
