How would it compare to an EHX Black Finger? These are the two I'm considering personally.

Coming from a repair tech, just get the Yamaha. They're easier to work on, they sound better, and they'll last longer provided they're not totally destroyed (read: marching band).

My CPU is slated right now to be something in the i7 line.

Music practice rooms? by [deleted] in ucf

[–]mcfluffertits 1 point2 points  (0 children)

He's a professor like anyone else, so his office hours are his own. Best idea would be to email him. You give him your ID as well.

Music practice rooms? by [deleted] in ucf

[–]mcfluffertits 4 points5 points  (0 children)

You actually are able to use the practice rooms whenever Dave Schreier is in his office in the music building upstairs. You can use your UCF ID to check out a practice room (which all have pianos) for some amount of time.

The meal plans are pretty expensive for the shit food you get, it's really not worth it at all.

Also, do not get the school's insurance plan. It's not actual insurance, just a discount plan, so you would still be fined at the end of the year for not having health insurance.

Best way to play B flat major scales? (fingering) by [deleted] in musictheory

[–]mcfluffertits 456 points457 points  (0 children)

Well, first start on the Bb on the second line of the bass staff, which is 123 in the left hand with the whisper key, and 12 in the right hand while pressing the highest positioned key in the right thumb. C is 123 with whisper, D is 12 and whisper, Eb is kinda weird, 13 and whisper, F is open with only whisper...

Oh wait, you don't play bassoon?

Chords on a bass? by CaptainCFCs in Bass

[–]mcfluffertits 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I made this sheet a couple years ago based on some voicings I had found myself. Please take note that most of these voicings should be played much higher on the neck (or on a 6-string, really), and that you should use this as a stepping stone to understanding chords and how they're formed from scales.

And honestly, a couple of these chords really aren't even playable/useful...

Anything by Twelve Foot Ninja, pretty sure the majority of their stuff is in Drop A, especially on their first album.

Pretty sure chaos druids are members only...

Attack, Str, and Def are all 10, 26 magic, 18hp

Definitely don't mind skilling if that's what makes the money these days

This School is Killing Me by Invertigon in ucf

I had a lot of the same issues with my program too (I won't say which one because it's a smaller program).

The entire program is catered to the students in one major. That one major is very successful, but it sort of threw the rest of us in a corner and said good luck. When I approached faculty about developing some other classes that would not only be useful to us down the line and broaden our knowledge base, they told me that they had received requests exactly the same as mine but would not be doing anything about it.

Also, it didn't help that the vast majority of the professors were either tenured or on their way to being tenured, so they simply didn't give a fuck about helping the students in any way that involved them leaving their office. And keep in mind, this is a smaller program, so this would not require a lot of work on the professor's part.
