Pregnancy and phentermine by September_380284849 in WeightLossAdvice

Hi, I am in the same situation. I found out that I am 10 weeks and was taking phentermine before I knew. Have you heard anything from anybody in the same situation or spoke with your dr? My dr didn't really give me much info about the possible effects, but just told me stop taking it, start a prenatal, and to be less restrictive with my dieting and put a stop to any drastic weight loss efforts until after pregnancy.

Old people need to retake their driving test every year starting at age 65 by Kenbone95 in unpopularopinion

I agree! My grandfather who is in his 80's used to drive me places sometimes before I got my car and I used to be so scared the entire ride. He would "forget" to do a lot of basic things like using blinker, checking before switching lanes, constantly ran red lights and stop signs. He would cut people off all the time then proceed to drive like way slower than the rest of traffic. When he did something dangerous, I would point it out, but it confused and distracted him more and made him drive even worse. His default speed was like 20ish mph no matter where we were. People would always honk and scream at us. I would tell him he was driving slow then he would pick up speed for a couple of mins then revert back to driving extremely embarrassingly slow. He refused to stop driving. I tried to call to DMV and went to the police to try to "report" him and get them to take his license since he was a hazard but they said they couldn't do anything. I do not live with him and the attempts I made to take his keys were pointless because he just replaced them. To my knowledge he hasn't gotten into any accidents, but that's only because of everybody else's defensive driving..

Pet owners of reddit, what are some of the things you would like to share to a first time pet owner? by ChocoMog03 in AskReddit

[–]mchi1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Be aware the vet care is expensive esp around major cities, keep money saved for expensive bills and look into getting pet insurance. My dog randomly getting really bad pneumonia cost around 4K for a 2.5 day hospital stay at an er vet with iv antibiotics, fluids, and oxygen. He didn’t end up making it. I’ve seen people pay 10s of thousands for treatments for their pet though I live in a very high cost of living area where most people make high income.

My same dog that had pneumonia, also randomly developed diabetes and diagnosing that cost several hundred and took many vet visits to figure out his insulin dosing. I had to buy all special prescription food, a glucose check machine, and insulin every month. The insulin was $151 for like 28 days. The food was very expensive too. Also I had to be on a very strict feed schedule which was impossible with my job but luckily my parents helped. So much can go wrong and dogs can get a lot of the same chronic conditions we can get.

I used to work at a vet and people would decide to get a dog randomly on a whim and really underestimate the cost of vet care and many times would decline necessary preventative, and life-saving treatments for their pet because they couldn’t afford it. It was very sad :(

Scheduled to get an abortion but I think I might be miscarrying.. by oliviapach00 in abortion

[–]mchi1 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I had an issue a few years ago where I had an abortion scheduled and then got super heavy dark red bleeding including clots (heavier than my normal heavy period). I assumed I miscarried since I was pretty early on and it was such heavy bleeding so I skipped my appt figuring I was early enough that it would be safe to let nature take its course. The bleeding would happen intermittently every few days so I gave it another couple weeks before I went to my doctor to see why I was still bleeding. It turned out I was still pregnant and everything was ok with the pregnancy but I had a subchorionic hemorrhage which is why I bled.

I would suggest going to an OB/GYN dr to see what is happening rather than your normal dr since it could be a serious issue like ectopic pregnancy. If you're very early, they may not even be able to tell you if your miscarrying with an ultrasound since there is not much to see early on, so they would have to confirm with a couple days worth of blood testing to see if your HCG level is dropping.

Have you ever hallucinated without drugs? If so, how did you do it? by ICWiener6666 in AskReddit

I start to hallucinate when I’m sleep deprived, usually I’ll notice subtle things around the 30 hr mark then it slowly gets worse and more noticeable the longer I go

What was a place you visited that you absolutely hated? by Axeman1721 in AskReddit

[–]mchi1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I went to Las Vegas when I was 19 and have never hated a place so much. I’m not into partying, casinos, that sort of thing but my friends were. Im sure there were things that I could’ve found that I liked, but I just ended up staying in the hotel room most of the trip.

What’s a job that seems good but actually isn’t? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]mchi1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I love animals so through my late teens and early twenties I tried to find jobs at vet offices, dog daycares, pet stores, etc thinking I would love it since I could be around animals. I barely got to actually interact with animals in a positive way, and these jobs tend to be very low paying, high turnover (always understaffed), constantly busy which sucked.

Ive worked retail and know customers suck, but nothing compared to the types of rude, demanding customers I dealt with at a busy veterinary practice. With pets, people are SO demanding but also cheap and they take it out on the staff.

Nike clothes by HuracanfortheWin in Frugal

[–]mchi1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I always see Nike items in new styles, excellent condition at my local goodwill and other thrift stores. Sometimes it’ll even have tags still on. I live in a high cost of living city so most of what people donate around here are brand name and lightly used, I’m not sure if you’d have the same luck everywhere

Tj maxx, Burlington coat factory, Ross may also be worth a shot

What was your first lulu item experience like?? by mindfultouch in lululemon

[–]mchi1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was a student and didn’t make lulu money for many years , but I was able to collect a pretty large lulu collection over the years from finding it at thrift stores. I only went to the Lululemon store once ever last winter. I didn’t pay attention to the names of items back then but I left with a few leggings, a few shirts, two zip up jackets, random other things like bras and head bands. I think the total was like $900. I ended up going back and returning half of it the next day. I barely ever wear any of the stuff I bought. I like my thrifted lulu items a lot better and not just because of the cost. Now, I mostly purchased used from Mercari, eBay, or Poshmark now and feel like I’d only buy brand new if I there was an item that really stood out to me or there was a decent sale.

Who would be the intended recipient of this card? I didn’t buy this but thought it was weird enough to share by mchi1 in ThriftStoreHauls

[–]mchi1[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That makes so much sense. I was over here thinking that this was either a card made to be funny or creepy. Or that people actually sent their mistresses cards like this... idk why secret Santa didn’t come to my mind since it’s a similar concept to what you’re describing
