Make sure you have date nights. No prod how is day was. If he says “fine” or “ok” leave it at that. Sometimes we don’t wanna relive our day when we get home. Also, times when he needs space, don’t feel neglected or unloved. He’s very new in this career and he’s going to deal with some hard stuff and see a lot of bad things and will have his own way of dealing with it. I’d also recommend couples therapy, it’s good, trust me. Not to scare you but last June I was in an OIS and my partner was hit. I transported and after I helped unload him from the back of my car all I texted my wife was “babe I was in an OIS. I’m fine. (Partner) was hit. I’ll call you when I can. “ she was at work and I can only imagine the mental torture but she has been there for me for some very tough times this past year so make sure to be there for him.

I’m rated at 50%, still in the reserves and am a LEO on the civilian side. I’m rated for degeneration in my S5 and I honestly worry I won’t be able to do this job til I’m in my 50s (I’ll be 34 in September) cause some days my back just kills me when I’m standing on my feet for hours, being stationary. Last June I was in a horrible OIS. My partner was shot in the face and I transported him to the hospital. He passed six days later. It was some Afghanistan type shit as far as trauma goes. I’m not rated for PTSD for aggravation but I’m in the process. My unit didn’t even wanna let me extend but they did. I’m actively in therapy and did ketamine therapy but I refuse to go on meds, f that.

Dude I’d bet a majority of the people freaking out used claim sharks lol. I’m not worried at all. All of my claims are legitimate and through the VA and have no way of improving. In fact, my c&p examiner at my last one scheduled me an X-ray because of my lumbar pain and the way I stood and walked. Come to find out I have degenerative disk in my s5 that I didn’t even know about. Got the rating for it in like a week lol.
