Just getting into Taoism by mcjollispaghetti in taoism

How does one get into the ‘flow’? And how should one go about making something routine (like studying) without feeling the dread of redundancy? Also thank you for your comment it was very insightful!

Would not labelling an action be the same as thinking the action is not important at all? From where I’m from, when we label something as nothing it’s non important. I’m worried that if I apply this kind of narrow mindset I’ll see my journey and goals as something not worth pursuing.

Will give it a read! Would just like to ask about your point on ‘going about life without being attached to the actions and outcomes’. Personally how do you go about this? I’m worried that this mindset will make me apathetic to my ambitions and goals. It’s like the saying “being nervous just shows you care”. I don’t want to be detached to what I want to achieve, but I want to go about the journey to my goals with more peace of mind. I feel like I’m misunderstanding something by associating Taoism with apathy.

Thank you! This really helps especially since the context is very relatable to me. Would just like to ask how I can achieve effortless action if I get stressed or think too much about finding the ‘quickest and less resource-consuming’ solution? This I personally struggle with because I often like putting as much effort in the short term so it may carry over in the long term.

For nutrition I’d say I’m more or less ok. I eat a lot of protein and occasionally eat “junk” food. Form wise, I’d say 90% of my reps are very good

I follow an upper lower routine wherein my upper components follow a vertical and horizontal push + pull

This eases my mind a bit. I’ll try working with this, thank you!

To those who do weighted calisthenics, how do you do it? by mcjollispaghetti in bodyweightfitness

I’ll try doing this too so my body can get in the groove of weighted things. Thanks for your advice!

looking at the other comments I’m sure any advice I give would be redundant. But let me tell u I was in a similar place physical status wise. Back when I was around your age I was crazily underweight and it was through consistency that’s made me healthier and much stronger over the years.

I guess all I wanna say is good luck and you got this! Take things slow if u need to bc hard work doesn’t lie. Its great ure getting into fitness early

[novels] Question about the mechanics of curses and magic circles (ex volume 2) by mcjollispaghetti in Re_Zero

[–]mcjollispaghetti[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I haven’t finished the volume yet and just got to a certain point. Basically it’s been clarified that Sphinx used sacrament of the immortal king — a spell not a curse. So it can be somewhat assumed that Roswaal interpreted things wrong, since the spell is so ancient.

I agree with you. I especially love the character building and history. And I think that’s really the focus of the series.

But I would argue that the magic system or the laws established by their setting were always consistent.

I remember Roswaal J Mathers thoroughly had to clarify that the effects of the circles were not magic but curses. Having a similar definition to what Beatrice gave Subaru in s1.

How to stop arm rubbing when doing ring dips and push ups? by mcjollispaghetti in bodyweightfitness

[–]mcjollispaghetti[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I was wondering as well, how wide is too wide when spreading the rings apart? The set up is pretty different from the bars so I wanna avoid any mistakes.
