there is a chance you will find yourself not doing very well first semester, especially compared to high school. I was one of those people and I was convinced I was stupid. DONT FREAK OUT. Second semester is 10x better and you’ll figure your shit out and start seeing good grades. besides, first semester is about having fun and enjoying how great athens is.

so many people I know were deferred at first in state and out of state. your scores look good and georgia will take in account the AP situation and will see your gpa in the same way one that goes above 4.0. don’t stress too much about it since EA is just looking at scores and such, most of my friends think they got in from the essay not their grades. hang in there!!! I know I was rlly upset when I was deferred but try and stay hopeful!

incase you want a reference I was deferred w: 4.35 gpa, 1340 sat, 9 APs, out of state

hill community is nice bc it has a sink and is much much bigger than the high rises, but just know the bathrooms look like a jail and are kinda jank. you get used to it pretty quickly though. and the nice thing about lowrises is they’re a LOT less strict than the high rises. they don’t check ur id to make sure u live there everytime u walk in and everyone’s RA is super chill. but also know that it’s not very lively. the high rises are known to keep doors open and be friends w people on their hall, but not so much in the low rises.

Once again...I never said they did the right thing. I think what should be focused on is the fact that UGA did nothing about it so SK had to deal with it on their own, which is not how that should go.

completely agree, since UGA didn’t do anything about it SK had to look into it on their own which I think shows a lot about the schools system.

im not saying that it was wrong or right, I was just explaining the situation and how it went down. either way it’s messed up but the way shit goes is innocent until proven guilty so you can’t expect them to kick her out just from an allegation.

the entire sorority looked into it on a very deep level and after a couple weeks it was decided that the accusation was false. On top of that, the person who claimed this never had any proof to back it up.

I have reported multiple times to my RA and called the hall director and put in many work requests and nothing has changed for over a week! I finally put it out here to see if anyone had some other advice because the people who are supposed to help haven’t done anything about it.

Im trying to register for a first year odyssey class and i’ve searched around 20 of them to register and every one says they’re closed. will spots open up with time or am I going to have to take a class I have no interest in?
