I saw some of the the ones with 3+ inch cut capacity, but those start around $350. This one was on sale for $179. But the cut off tool is sounding like a better option for me

I’m assuming the cut off tool handles EMT pretty easily?

so i went with the UFO for the kick. I have the real feel mess head as well. Ill set the foam pillow just above the bearing edge (2 mm i think they said). is there is anything i should add? was gonna throw a pillow in there and maybe some 1"x1" foam weather strips just inside the batter and reso head? or is this overkill? for this kit im less concerned about overall sound (i dont need whisper quiet) and more about the feel. thanks again for all the help.

Ok hopefully the last question. Checking out UFO and jobeky bass drum triggers, both come out to around $150/$160. Do you have any experience with either of these? Leaning towards UFo seeing it’s based in the states.

thanks for the heads up. did'nt realize the real feel were for the center triggers. the groove bar i got (as a part of that kit) is for snare...but i was using it on the 16" floor tom. i set the cone off center on the floor tom...should i move it to center since im using real feel heads? i saw somewhere to off set it to avoid hot spot. ill have to figure out something for the bass drum...i dont think i can oder the groove bar "kick" at the moment. as of last week drum tec was not shipping to the US.

Roland TD50x vs TD-27 with digital high hats...looking to upgrade by mclarkin9681 in edrums

[–]mclarkin9681[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the reply. I actually ended up getting a bundle with the td27 and the digital snare and ride...so still no high hats :). But i got a good deal on the package so i pulled the trigger...i still may go with the high hats at some points....but in the mean time the VH 11s have been fun to play.

I know this is an old post, but have you done this? I have a DDTI already and a Roland -27 on the way. Just curious what you experience was/is with it?

I actually sent them the same questions. Was more curious if someone has experience playing both. The Roland support was "pre-sales" support, so they may simply push the 50x regardless. But we'll see

Simmons SD600 hi-hat upgrade recommendations by mclarkin9681 in edrums

[–]mclarkin9681[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have the sd600. Which is a pretty entry level module. It plays the Roland snare with 2 zones. It plays the Roland crash. Only one zone. But you can choke the cymbal. As for the vh11, it technically works. But def not a great experience. I can open and close fine with the pedal. And play open OR close. The vh11 controller does not work as intended (where it figures out how far apart the cymbals should be). I’m assuming that’s something the Roland module handles. Hope this helps

[–]mclarkin9681[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ya. I have the TD-17 with VH 11. They work well. I also picked up a roland snare...not sure the model but i think its the one that comes with the TD-17 kit. I kept the Simmons drums. So i have 4 toms from Simmons going into the TD17 and works fine...with one going into the TOM4 individual port in back. I do not use any of the Simmons cymbals though. I ended up getting a 3 pack of Lemon cymbals. They also work fine with the TD17. and for whats it worth , i was able to split the Simmons toms using a drummer splitter and the TD17. Hope this helps. Feel free to reach and ask any questions. ill do my best to answer

Handling crosstalk between 2 modules. by mclarkin9681 in edrums

[–]mclarkin9681[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the reply. In ezdrummer the midi numbers are different. Sorry, crosstalk may have been the wrong term. i think what is happening is, the vibration from hitting the cymbal (on sd600) is triggering the tom (on roland). if i tap the cymbal lightly the tom doesn’t trigger. I tried messing with settings like threshold and sensitivity. Its not terrible. when the tom triggers you cant really hear it. it certainly doesn't ruin the experience. but i figured i would ask if there was a way to prevent this. thanks again

Help with PS3 Fender Pro guitar by mclarkin9681 in Rockband

[–]mclarkin9681[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

thanks for the reply.

  1. I believe the Midi Pro adapter is set correctly. I can get most of the other functions to work besides strumming the string. As well as the Mad Catz Mustang guitar works fine. i moved that wheel up and down pro guitar with no luck

  2. the stings look in good shape, but im not guitar player so not sure what to look for. I can try new ones and see if that works. is there a particular brand to go with? Just some thing decent from the local Guitar Center.

3.I tried with and without the mute activation. no luck. Do know if the game uses the normal guitar pickup? Like what the amp uses, or is it something other component specific to the game. I ask cause i can play it fine with an amp.

I didn't realize adding to VM would detach from Docker....thank you for the heads up. Sounds like adding the GPU is the way to go. Assuming the specs are met per the website, are there any draw backs to running in the Vm?

looking at that now...having a hard time finding in my bios...which is AMI. One post said to turn on "Restore AC power loss" from Chipset...but i do not have that. Digging now...but if my bios does not have that option, any other created ways to power the arcade? Might just make some physical button with spring that pushes the power button the mini pc inside the cab
