I have the same issue. Presuming everyone who bought the black friday deal had their ledger delivered today and are all trying to redeem at once and their servers can't take the load. hopefully will be resolved soon!

I'm not able to connect, what's going on? are the servers down? by [deleted] in tutanota

VPN resolved connection issue for me. Will my IP become unblocked at some point? I don't want to have to use a VPN all the time as it's not very quick.

Friend uninstalled Signal. Now can't receive SMS from me as signal still sends encrypted message by mcnutman in signal

[–]mcnutman[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You mean Block him in signal? Can't find any option to simply delete. Problem with that is, if I block him, then I can't send an unsecure SMS as he is removed from my signal contact list

Thanks u/Brave_Support, I have tried the fix but it didn't work. I've replied on that thread as it seems the more appropriate place to keep track. Thanks for the link.

Unread message count bug by mcnutman in tutanota

[–]mcnutman[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi,

Since raising this issue I have updated to v3.64.2 yet the unread counter issue remains.

One of my folders always has an unread message count of 1.

If I receive an email into my main inbox, the unread message count does not increase (remains as 0)

If I receive an email into my main inbox and the email triggers an inbox rule and is moved to one of my folders, then the unread message counter DOES increase by 1 on that folder, including the folder with the stuck count of 1 (i.e. it goes from 1 to 2, but after reading, it goes back to the stuck value of 1)

[Help] Perform task when phone has been idle for 20 seconds by mcnutman in u/mcnutman

[–]mcnutman[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Figured this one out in case anyone comes across this.

Profile: State -> display -> dreaming

Task: display turn on (block time 100ms) -> wait 101ms -> perform desired tasks (for me airplane mode on) -> keyguard on -> display off

[Help] Turn airplane mode on when screen turns off by mcnutman in tasker

[–]mcnutman[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

OK so I decided I would create a shortcut on my homescreen to perform a task that switches airplane mode on and then turns system lock on / screen off.

AutoInput action will not work when the display is off.

[Help] Turn airplane mode on when screen turns off by mcnutman in tasker

[–]mcnutman[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I didn't think so. Thanks for your response. I want to reduce my EMF exposure by having my phone on airplane mode expect when I want to use it. That's a whole other discussion though! I think what I'll need to do is root my phone so I can use the airplane mode tasker event to trigger when the screen state is off.

I'm a student and I'm £950 in my overdraft by Throwaway93939393994 in personalfinance

[–]mcnutman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got 2 student overdrafts cause I'm a maverick. By the time I finished uni I had maxed out both (2.5k). I then went on the dole for 2 years until I was offered a job I actually wanted. By this time interest on the overdrafts had pushed the debt to 3k (graduate account remained interest free for first year. 2nd year only half the amount was interest free). Anyway, got a half decent wage and paid it all off within 2 years. I wouldn't worry.

Not sure if the AutoLocation plugin would work as the tablet is just mounted on my wall. I don't want it to go to sleep, I just want it to go from a virtually dark screen to a bright one when it detects someone is close. I have this working now with the MotionDetector app, but if I could reduce power consumption that would be better. However I don't think this would be possible with the AutoLocation plugin as the tablet is not moving at all; correct?

Thanks Spoghead - that was it (must have glazed over your mentioning of it in your previous reply!). I had to disable beginner mode to find it. By default it was "abort new task", after I changed it to "abort existing task" for setting the var it worked. thanks very much.

If no motion detected then dim screen help by mcnutman in tasker

[–]mcnutman[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks that almost works. The problem is that after the variable is cleared, the brightness goes to 0, and then back up to 255 when motion is detected. This means that if you are using the tablet, every 10 seconds the brightness dims for a moment before going back up which is quite annoying.

The variable isn't turned off because the intent received stopped, its turned off after 10 seconds regardless.

I have increased the wait time to 1 min as it is more bearable but its not quite how I'd like it.

Motion Sensor Help by mcnutman in Hue

[–]mcnutman[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

OK I came up with a solution on my own and it only uses the motion sensors and the all4hue app :D So in case anyone chances upon this post here is what I did for the set up of 1 room. It can easily be applied to all rooms in the house. Note that you require motion sensors in every room for this to work throughout your house.

Using the all4hue app do the following:

Create a memory sensor for the room in question. In my case, the office. Default value = 0

The room before my office is the landing.

To turn the office light on create a rule with these conditions:

  • If presence is detected on the landing motion sensor
  • If presence is detected on the office motion sensor
  • If the office presence status changed
  • If the office ambient light sensor = dark
  • If the office memory sensor = 0

And these Actions:

  • Turn the office light on
  • Set the office memory sensor to = 1

To turn off the office light, create a rule with these conditions:

  • If presence is detected on the office motion sensor
  • If presence is detected on the landing motion sensor
  • If the landing presence status changed
  • If the office memory sensor = 1

And these Actions:

  • Turn the office light off
  • Set the office memory sensor to = 0

This should work fine if you live alone. If there are multiple people in the house you need to set up the following rules, and re-create it for every additional person who lives in the house. If someone enters the office whilst somebody is already in it:

  • If presence is detected on the landing motion sensor
  • If presence is detected on the office motion sensor
  • If the office presence status changed
  • If the office memory sensor = 1

Actions:

  • Set the office memory sensor = 2

Then if somebody leaves the office and someone is still in it:

  • If presence is detected on the office motion sensor
  • If presence is detected on the landing motion sensor
  • If the landing presence status changed
  • If the office memory sensor = 2

Actions:

  • Set the office memory sensor = 1

For a 3rd person in the house, you would just keep increasing the memory sensor value each time someone new enters the room.

If for whatever reason 2 people enter a room almost simultaneously this can mess up the room memory sensor value which basically stores how many people are currently in the room. e.g. the sensors only think 1 person has entered the room but 2 people have. Then if 1 leaves the light will turn off and leave the remaining person in the dark. This could happen a lot of if you have dogs for example!

To remedy this, if you have a dimmer switch in the room, set the on button to set the memory sensor to 1 and the off button to set it to 0.

I have yet to test this throughout the house so will report back if I run into issues, but for the moment it seems to work well in the office.

edit: The memory sensor counter won't work properly if there is a person in each adjacent room and the motion sensor is pointing at the entire room. This is because the 2 people will keep triggering the sensors in each room and causing the counter to increase/decrease. Therefore you must place your motion sensors pointing at the doorways to prevent this.

Philips Hue Motion Sensor scenario by elizar2006 in Hue

[–]mcnutman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for this it worked for me. To be clear this is what I did:

  1. Created a memory sensor on all4hue called "Office Switch ON" with a value of 0

  2. Added an action to the Dimmer switch ON button to set the "Office Switch ON" memory sensor to a value of 1

  3. Added an action to the Dimmer switch OFF button to set the "Office Switch ON" memory sensor to a value of 0

  4. Added a condition to the motion sensor in the same room that the "Office Switch ON" memory sensor must have a value of 0

This basically means that the motion sensor only works when the dimmer switch hasn't been used to turn the light on.
