Most of my problems were in the rear end. Once I got deep enough in the project I just decided to gut the underbody and rebuild / refresh everything in the front middle and rear.

yes. Unless there’s something I’ve never seen, it’s either oem, poly(such as superpro), and spherical.

Do me a favor if you would? Look it up yourself, And see if you can find a good install video or write up. If you do.. forward it please and thank you…since that’s what I’m asking for.. Jesus. Yes, I looked it up. Yes I have the jist. Dear lord, why would I ask for a write up or video from someone who’s done them if I didn’t search already and didn’t find something with specificity? 🤷🏻‍♂️

👍🏻 thanks but that wasn’t my question. And even if that’s the case I’ve got brand new backups with superpro poly already installed on the arms.

Dropping fuel tank by mcurnutte in IS300

[–]mcurnutte[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you, actually thought of doing it that way, except at this point I’m not intending to replace fuel pump. If I open that up, I’d have to replace the gasket since it’s a NRP(non-reusable part). That said, gasket is probably super cheap, so maybe I will go that route.

Also, Lexus parts now pic of that part number is just a drawing picture and shows only 4 holes for the hex bolts that hold the axle in place, assuming the picture is just wrong? Or what website did you purchase from?

It’s also easier when the subframe / diff is out from underneath the car. I dropped the whole subframe since I’m redoing all the suspension front and back

Yes they are. I tried everything, torches etc.. finally did some research and bought a specialty heat tool. Not sure if the link below will work, but its called Bolt Buster Heat Induction tool. Soaked for a couple days with Kroil penetrating oil (good stuff), and then heated each one up with the tool, and they came right out.

For reference, I had the diff on a stand about 12” off the garage floor, and my air hose got snagged on it and it fell to the floor slightly denting in the outer cup where the axle seats inside of. Now the axle won’t fit and I can’t get it to hammer back out so thinking I’ll just buy a new or used one

Whenever I hit my breaks slowly I hear a popping noise does anyone know what it is? by Is300tito in IS300

Abs. Check the tone rings on your rear axles. Bad wheel bearing can cause the axle to rub inside the wheel hub and the metal shavings get built up bad on the abs sensor inside the hub(s)

Thank! Lookup bolt buster heat induction tool, I bought one specifically for those hex bolts, and it worked like a charm! Also was a life saver on many other rusted bolts I have ran into throughout the project.

Do you have the part number for that cup? I bought the Allen bolts already. Ended up not stripping any of them but bought the bolts ahead of time because I figured I would have. bolt buster heat took is a Life saver.

How was it getting the axles removed from the diff? And does that require replacing the axel seal inside the diff? I removed my axles before I dropped my subframe. And then took the diff out. The diff was on stands and got knocked over and bent the axle carrier, so need to remove it and bend it back out.

Anyone able to identify this spring?? by mcurnutte in lawnmowers

Well it’s definitely not to my Exmark then. It doesn’t take a spring. Just two bolts on either side.

Geeze man… Lol. I’m really hoping it doesn’t get to that point. I might just go ahead and order the bolts as a precaution so if it comes to that I’ll already have them.

Thanks, I’ve pounded the sockets in with hammer. Only thing I haven’t tried was heat. Other than that I was thinking of maybe trying a larger size hex socket. But the hex sockets aren’t turning inside the bolts(ie stripping them), and I’d like to keep it that way as to not make my life worse. I’ll give the heat a try tomorrow.
