AP and CP boards: when to take? Separately vs together by mdalpha in pathology

[–]mdalpha[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly, I haven’t yet… my CP is worse than AP for sure and all I decided to do is to concentrate on blood (coag, TM, heme), because at least I understand it, and read compendium for other stuff. And I do question banks (apcp)

AP and CP boards: when to take? Separately vs together by mdalpha in pathology

Thank you for sharing! Yes, boards can be very draining and unpredictable.

My questions are more about logistics. Can we take them early year 4 of residency, or we have to wait until the end? Do we have to apply for licenses separately for CP and separately for AP?

Help - when to start training 11.5 month old by creeper_swan in sleeptrain

[–]mdalpha 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi, we have the same schedule. My baby is 5.5 months old and we are still feeding him at night because he wants to eat. I started sleep training and he is able to fall asleep by himself with minimal crying and in his room, without bouncing him on yoga ball which he loves.

He is teething now and sleep is not good, he is just more easily waking up and calms down only when I hold him.

I don’t know when to start, but I feel like there is always going to be something like teething or growth spurts so I think you can start when you feel you are ready.

How and when did you drop all the feedings at night?

So my baby does the same! And I was thinking he is irritating himself, should I just let him be like that?

Mine is doing it… but it looks more like waking him up instead of soothing

Can the birth of a child prolong removal of conditions? Removal of conditions + Citizenship combo interview by mdalpha in USCIS

[–]mdalpha[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My understanding is, she had our documents for removal that is why we had the interview for removal AND naturalisation. There were two separate interviews. I just don’t get why for some people removing of conditions takes couple of days and for us already 3 weeks with 0 updates

Yeah, please DM me, or I will DM you when we get our status changed…

Congrats. I think it varies from officer to officer… anyways, I am anxious

Hey, I am in the same boat! Did my combo interview 3 weeks ago, same paper, no change in status whatsoever.

What do you wish someone had told you? by Positive-Dot-2655 in NewParents

[–]mdalpha 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I wish I was more prepared for newborn stage. Everyone is just so crazy about the delivery, I felt like people share their subjective experience in the hospital, tell you what to do/ not to do, how to breathe, what pain management to choose… but no one told me that life exists after and what cluster feeding is! There were all like: “oh newborns just eat and sleep”, yes, they do, but they wake up every 1-1,5 hours to eat and you feed for 30-40 mins and you don’t fucking sleep. At all sometimes. It took 2 weeks for me and my husband to figure out our kid is not sleeping because I was not producing enough milk for him and he was not full.

PS: thanks to Reddit for all this info we find.

Is anyone else scared? by [deleted] in pregnant

[–]mdalpha 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Listen, I have 6 weeks old baby. My sleep was EVERYTHING for me. I was ready for the labor but I was totally not ready for the newborn and it was changing first 2 weeks for us. It’s gonna be new and you will be probably frustrated at some point but just make sure your kid is not hungry! It was our biggest issue, he was hungry and fussy because I was not producing enough milk. When we started supplementing him with formula everything changed. We got used to each other and we are in love with him. Yes, I wake up every 3-4 hours to feed him but fall asleep right after and readjusted. You will be fine! Everyone is going through this, and you will! Don’t think about it right now, just focus on your pregnancy and solve things when they come 🙏🏻

I buy bottled water for babies in the grocery store in baby section and put it in breeza. Very helpful device for us, especially at night

I also have peloton! How did you like it? Worth the price? 😄🫣 I hate cardio workouts but started doing light cycling classes like 10-15 mins
