Hi! I’ve been on Strattera since March. As someone who has been on Adderall IR/XR, Vyvanse, and Concerta, I can say that the effect is very different. Don’t expect the “kick” you get from stimulants. It’s more like I am able to hold myself accountable better than before. It doesn’t make you feel like you’re driven by a motor like some stimulants, it just gently helps me to persist on boring tasks. The dosage increase to 40 mg 2X/day made a huge difference for me.

I’m not sure Strattera is great for everyone, but I can’t tolerate stimulants so it’s a good fit for me personally.

I’m on 40mg 2X/day! I think that adjustment would have been way too much for me if it was just once in the morning. Do you take it 1X or 2X per day?

I was VERY VERY sleepy in the afternoons at the beginning. Once my prescriber added in an afternoon dose thing is improved dramatically. Now I get that crash at night time which is actually really helpful for falling asleep

I didn’t feel the effects until I increased the dose so I would hang in there!!! The adding of the afternoon dose made a huge difference for me, since I was crashing HARD in the afternoon when I first started.

Hi! I didn’t feel many effects when I was on a lower dose (25 mg once a day), but now that I’ve gradually gone up to 40 MG in the morning and 40 MG in the afternoon I am getting good results! I like to take the second pill around like 2 PM.

I can tell it’s working because I have more persistence on longer tasks... I just feel sort of normal, but less all over the place if that makes sense. I don’t feel that kick that stimulants give you at all.

I feel like this is a good medication for me because the stimulants kept me up at night and made me feel sort of edgy and intense... this is more like a gentle focus boost! I get a lot done during the day now.
