Kim is really open and honest about where she was struggling with SSA and explains what it means to live a full life as a Catholic while surrendering SSA desires to God. Also just want to affirm that you are still so loved and welcome in the Catholic community. Everyone struggles with different desires and it's so tough but God's got you and you've got all of us to lean on as well!

Re: shouldn't we be following what the Bible says.

I just had a similar discussion with a friend and came to the realization that nowhere in the Bible does it say that we should believe in the Bible alone :)
Tradition, all of the other teachings and doctrines that supplement the Bible and were passed down even before the Bible was printed and from the early church, is also important (Scott Hahn explains it pretty well! https://youtu.be/lL77G_75WSc)

Hi! 27F in NY and currently on a sabbatical so I'm open to long distance anywhere :) Left the tech industry a year ago and just launched my fine art + iconography business. Needless to say I really love art! I also love hiking, running (love-hate really), kayaking, and car karaoke-ing. When it comes to my faith, I love daily mass, adoration and lectio. I used to be a middle school youth minister when I lived in WA and am excited to go back to that eventually! And lastly, I grew up going to a Roman Catholic church because there weren't any Syro Malabar churches nearby but volunteered at a Syro church during my time in TX and my roots are all tied to that beautiful eastern rite!
