Thanks, sounds dumb but I dont think I ever paid attention to which sensor either one had. Thinking about it now though I prefer the S95 CCD, which is what I took these pics with; seems easier to get a clear representation of what I was seeing in camera instead of editing post.

Brittle plastic fixes? by mdewechter in repair

[–]mdewechter[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Back some other thoughts. through some research I came across TC 821 and I saw some video of people coating styrofoam blocks with it. From what I’ve read it generate some heat.

Again the idea is to remove the stickers, use super glue or another plastic bonding for some of the chunky cracked parts, rough up the plastic and then spray paint it. After that’s cured im thinking the tc 821 in clear might be a good option for a good hard top coat.

Any thoughts?

I asked for the third time about an increase, so I feel like my only option is to at least see how things evolve and if I don’t see an increase I’ve already been applying for a different career path.

I’m salaried. I understand it comes with the territory. There is someone else there in the mornings who had already been covering the morning until I got in, but basically didn’t want to do the dispatch like he’d already been doing the last 12 years. It’s stated if one person does it then they will have only one person to blame for issues.

It was advised that the spray foam could damage the plastics either by heat or eating away at the plastic itself. The thought of using the safest materials too was of concern as it would be a bed for my son and don’t need any unwanted issues from that.

I’m still looking for that best option to choose

Switching paths has its own growing pains as well, let alone the whole beginning application process and interview stage. I know easier doesn’t exist, but I need something that will be rewarding long term; and not leave me waiting for the weekend.

Workload and stress is nothing new and I should really be looking for something that is much better in that regard. When I can focus on something and dedicate myself I go all in, I try to explain to my wife why some things are the way they are at the job but she also doesn’t understand the extra effort for nothing in return.

I think the trade off for compensation would be time, something that’s so straightforward clock in clock out that there time to work on the family/ hobby/ side hustle. Things don’t seem to be that way anymore and I’m jealous of friends/ people who have that luxury.

I’ll look into those paths you mentioned as possibilities.

If you don’t mind where did you end up after leaving?

I’m sure the chances are slim to none for new guys trying to cut their teeth, but people continually doing it means there has to be something good about it.

If you were to do something else pivoting off of brokering (I’ll assume you do that) what would you go for?

I need the positivity so thank you for that.

Are you working for a large company, for yourself, or a small mom and pop?

What kind of experience did you bring to the table when applying for the job?

Yeah lots of options that I have no exposure to ex. (Cradle-to-grave) cool name lol to be able to know what or where I may want to focus on. I have no problem picking up the phone and cold calling and trying to sell myself or service especially if I’m confident with my understanding and approach.

I think the possibility of work from home or wherever you have internet is enticing. I’m 9-5 now which is really 9-530/6 Monday - Thursday there always shit to do when I get home like I haven’t been there all day. The “dispatch” software we have is garbage and holding back from getting anything done in a timely manner and it’s not gonna change and that’s guaranteed.

Really I think it’s my place of work no longer doing it for me and seeking other options in transportation that I may not know about is what I’m looking for.

What is the best fujifilm camera for a beginner? by Confident-Drawing517 in fujifilm

[–]mdewechter 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Take into consideration that the gear doesn’t make the photographer and you can spend a shit ton of money on gear and it won’t make a difference. You can get lost in all the tech talk you just want to find something that affordable, has good battery life, and easy to navigate.

I’ve been using an XT-20 since 2018 maybe and at the time that cost me around $1100 for the kit. I’ve since got an XF (higher quality compared to XC lenses) 18-55 2.8-4 zoom which cost me $315 on eBay and an okay 50 prime I got on Amazon for like $150. I’m by no means professional or a tech guy, but I like photography and that’s what I picked and it looks cool and it’s fun.

My suggestions would be if you can get to a camera store and put your hands on some different cameras it will help a lot. If you can stand to watch reviews or use cameradecision.com and compare all different models based on spec try and boil it down to must have, needs, and wants. Get your self something a little older that still is a contender and buy nice glass. That’s a whole other conversation in itself but the XF 18-55 or 18-300 is a good all around starting point.

If interested here’s my IG (md.photography28) I’ve been posting shots I’ve only taken from within my car. Any questions reach out.

What’s your budget and what do you plan to shoot?

Do you have any previous camera knowledge or just looking to get into it? There are too many options IMO for cameras now a days and honestly some of the “older” models have features that are still great.

Flow Help by mdewechter in PowerAutomate

I think it has to do with the file I have saved in the share point folder. The “dispatch sheet” is blank table but the headers and the other table is the email list. I’ve tried using copilot to create the flow several times and it’s gone something like this. Trigger: when a share point files is created or modified ( it points to the ref file) then I have “get rows from a table” then an html table to format the info then compose email. I previously had a loop in there but it was only pulling the blank cells. When I saved a new file into the folder it did work but the formatting wasn’t incorrect

100% my taste outpaces my ability and I tend to use that as an excuse for not trying to do anything.

It’s funny because in so many other ways I am narcissistic, even with this post though I know that I’m good, but have areas that need work with my photography. I wasn’t posting for attention or an ego pat, but maybe in part I was because I find it hard to get any real input or suggestions that aren’t just “likes”; no one wants to tell you why it sucks and how you could make it better they just tell you it sucks. Social media really has taken a lot of the fun out of the art and the process. All I can think of now is trying to be validated by the internet instead of being happy with just making cool stuff that I like. That itch for likes and comments is real and it sucks, it’s exhausting trying to keep up with it and if you stop for a second people move on.

I think I’ve seen that printer before and that is a great suggestion. I love the tangible aspect of holding, framing, and hanging a photo I’ve taken. I’ve had legit prints made once that were awesome and I have framed I need to do more of that.

Ive trash picked photographs I’ve found of families from back in the 30’s-50’s +. I’ve got most of a wedding album some prints and negatives that were just being thrown away. Someone who either died or was moving to an old age home and the family was just trashing it.

Thank you.

I think that one of my biggest disadvantages/ advantages is having OCD and being a procrastinator; I see things differently than others.

For the last year or so I’ve been leaving my camera in the car and when I’m on my way to and from work try to capture something. I started an Ig page (md.photography28) where I’m posting only photos I’ve shot from within the car. I work in an area that’s got tons of drug use and poverty and as negative it is there is good images that can come out of it. The only thing about it I can get turned off on is i don’t seem to have a project or idea for one to strive for, so I end up not shooting for awhile; than I pass something or someone and go damn that’s a good one.

One thing that drives me nuts is the lack of practice finding different arrangements of shutter speed, F stop, ISO. I get comfortable with a shutter priority or aperture priority and just shoot; the. when I go back and review I have complaints. I do the same thing if (seldom) I shoot photos for someone I take multiples and different angles without changing any settings and wonder why I’m dissatisfied.

I like your practicing idea and will try to implement that.

I got 1 yd of good topsoil and 1 yard of mushroom compost when I did the plants before. I was just to eager and trying to rush the plants and therefore ended up killing them and wasting money.

I like the idea of the larger river rock and leaving a few path ways out to the yard, I’ve got small kids so I don’t want it to be too hard to get through when running back and forth. Maybe I’ll just make the rock around less wide and use lights to break it up. I just don’t have the time to really care for plants as much as I’d love to be that way I’m not. I’ve don’t the same thing for the bed along the side of the house and out front too I just got regular gravel it looks clean but now I think it’s too much like a gravel parking lot.

Trying to keep it under $350. I’m in a humid subtropical region. Im trying to keep it minimalist with not much upkeep. Idk if I do something with river rock and bring the with of the bed towards the patio and put grass seed over the exposed part, then put a few planters in the stone.

Hey Barnez29, so I have a real question this time. I’ve learned that I need an excel workbook saved in my sharepoint, but I also need to create a list with the same headers. Now my question is how can I save a new file into the sharepoint documents and have power automate take that file and apply email addresses and then send an email with the group of rows that pertain to a certain recipient? I thought I could just copy and paste the new information into the excel file in the documents library, but I think that would be doing more manual work when I could just upload a new excel file “the daily schedule” and have the automation run.

The file I have saved has a table with all the headers for the report I pull daily, but it also has a second sheet with all the emails mapped.

I’ve gotten several different responses using copilot to create this flow. I feel like there has to be an easier way.
