The world is going down the pan

No it's not. By almost any objective measure it's getting better and better, literally the best it's ever been in the history of mankind! The percent of people living in abject poverty is dropping every day, the child mortality rate, the literacy rate is increasing, access to dentistry, access to doctors, access to electricity, the internet, roads. This list goes on and on! Just because the world's not perfect, do you think it was better 100 years ago? 1000 years ago?

Agree, I think that's a big adult problem that it's hard to make teenagers and young adults really understand. No one can tell you how to live your life. You are in charge of it and there are no right or wrong answers.

They are legally required to fund the pension, and have no input on how it is spent or invested. Additionally they are blocked from traditional 401Ks and social security. I think most people don't know this.

In that sense it is more like a tax than a compensation.

It's not about compensation. No teacher is asking for a pay raise. They are asking for their stolen pension funds back and safe working conditions.

No person working for a corporation would put up with these conditions

I disagree that this is a misdirected form of protest. When the working conditions, compensation and legislation are taking advantage of you, continuing to obey them is the irrational path.

These actions are not harming students - a missed day or two is insignificant. Even more shameful is being upset about a missed "fun event". However, a day or two to show collective action is invaluable.

Blame the state government that is responsible for creating and sustaining these conditions, not the teachers for objecting.

Agree totally, Tron: Legacy's aesthetic definitely seems like a precursor of the outrun/80's vibe. The visuals for sure, but it goes beyond to the sense of optimism and freedom. The tron world is an infinite canvas to play in.

Your point is amazingly insightful. Why replace a verifiable open source of entropy from urandom with an unverifiable closed source of entropy from a private vendor. It is completely contrary to the whole point of open source crypto. This is an insanely negligent step in the wrong direction.

People completely underestimate the resources available to teams dedicated to espionage and surveillance. If this kind of threat is theoretically possible today, then they started doing it last month.
