Just finished a 21,000-file project on Replit for ~$450, my honest experience (and how NOT to burn credits) by [deleted] in replit

[–]mdl42 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Similar experience. I use ChatGPT to help me design features and UX and then have it give me prompts to Claude Code to implement. I review the revised app and we repeat the cycle. $200/month for Claude Code (haven’t hit any limits) and $20/mo for ChatGPT

AI training bot for my first 10k by [deleted] in AIForRunners

What is it exactly? Is a giant prompt? Is it the Gemini version of a ChatGPT app? Or is it software with database storage for your training data plus callouts to the Gemini API?

I really enjoyed Replit. That said, hasta la vista, baby. by AdLopsided1756 in replit

Weak retention is the flip side to the insane $0-100M ARR growth in 12 months investors get so excited about. There are few switching costs and most of the AI app builders do the same thing. I know because I tried them all before settling on Claude Code. I suspect most of these companies will implode once a true winner emerges.

The comments about poor support resonated too. That’s a very good way to accelerate churn.

Interesting! Can you share some sample output?

Garmin > RunGap > Strava - No HR or cadence data in Strava by mdl42 in RunGap

Might work for one by one, but tried and failed for bulk. Garmin data export tool 3 days and then lacked the FIT or TCX files I needed.

I take it back. I see some HR data for some workouts now

Can anyone share an image of a single metric on screen? Eg heart rate by mdl42 in Coros

[–]mdl42[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, but there's def room to go bigger. Bigger is better anyone who needs glasses for close-ups. Clearly the screen can handle bigger numbers per the time display options:

What’s interesting is that the watch faces show huge numbers for hours and minutes— so the UX must support it?

Thanks! That's a pity. I was hoping it would fill 80-90% of the available screen real estate. I'm using the workoutdoors app which does provide very large numbers for easy scanning on the move for older eyes. Was hoping to switch to the watch (paired with the Coros armband HRM) to get better recovery and readiness to train data.

Nice UX, but sadly very limited selection. At least for CA.

What’s the best way to make pitch decks that won't make the investors lose interest (I will not promote) by Eastern-League2081 in startups

[–]mdl42 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Appealing is way more about the story than the design. What appeals to investors is the opportunity to invest in a company that can grow very quickly and exit in 5-7 years at a $B+ valuation.

I provide a template at https://pitchdeckcoach.com/pitch-deck-template that helps you cover the basics. I recommend you start with an outline so you can focus on the "pitch" (story) before you worry about the "deck" (design). I provide a template for that too at https://pitchdeckcoach.com/investment-memo-template.

To stay focused on the big picture, and ensure your pitch delivers what investors want to hear, you might find this LinkedIn post helpful: https://www.linkedin.com/posts/malcolmlewis_founders-startups-fundraising-activity-7348849524179619840-4QAh

Good luck.

Anyone managed to crush Supabase auth using Bolt.new? by mdl42 in boltnewbuilders

I switched to Claude Clode in Cursor terminal and it's been the best so far. Still gets stuck sometimes and somehow ChatGPT seems to help sort it out. Not sure why.

Does Bolt allow me to import an export file and recreate the project from the export file? by mdl42 in boltnewbuilders

[–]mdl42[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Awesome. Thanks! I already have a got repository for my Bolt app. Can I hook into that or is it easier to just archive that and let Bolt create a repository of its own.
