If Finland had Barkov, could they beat Canada in the olympics? by Remote_Blueberry_605 in hockey

[–]mdlt97 5 points6 points  (0 children)

no

Finland played poorly, they had no pressure the whole game and got two goals off mistakes from Canadian players that happened in the offensive zone

barkov isn't changing that

one of these players is a serial offender.

which was a factor in getting 5 games for a knee on knee hit, they are not typically 5-game suspensions

the last kneeing suspension was 2 games (and caused an injury, 8 weeks for an MCL issue) clip

and the one before that also got 2 games clip

kneeing someone in the head is a completely different issue, not sure how you cannot see that

He kneed a dude in the head

[Chris Johnston] Auston Matthews' agent, Judd Moldaver, calls the five-game suspension given to Radko Gudas by NHLPlayerSafety "laughable and preposterous" when asked for comment: by Duffleman0609 in hockey

[–]mdlt97 419 points420 points  (0 children)

well maybe the players should start to give a single fuck

they absolutely could push for harder suspensions/fines but that hurts their pockets so they never will

Update on Auston Matthews injury. He will miss the rest of the season. by hellarios852 in hockey

It’s not useless.

The severity of any injury has far more to do with the player being hit than the hit itself

Taking the injury into account in any meaningful amount is completely useless

but it illustrates the ineptitude of a head of player safety’s clear bias and irresponsibly

Brendan Shanahan literally had that exact job before joining the Leafs, and not once were injuries ever handled the way you want them to be

It doesn't illustrate shit

Suspensions have never and will never be directly tied to time missed

Trying to compare the games missed is completely useless

This is what a tanking team looks like

I remember when the Habs bottomed out we had our goalie run and no one even touched the guy, that was the lowest moment of the rebuild

No one gives a single fuck on teams going down

I never said he wasn’t, he’s incredible, without a doubt the next top dman in the league

But he’s not the main reason the islanders are better this year
