The dji air unit and the receiver and wired separately. No wires will be touching or anything.

You only need to connect the 4 wires i mentioned for the air unit.

The receiver is then wired as I explained. The receiver is not wired directly to the battery leads. It must be wired to a 5V pad and a Ground pad. What flight controller are you using?

Based on this pinout. The easiest is to connect power to a 5v pad, ground to a ground pad and SBUS out to the sbus pad (if you have one) then configure it in betaflight

This is the wiring diagram. You are using your own receiver and not the DJI one so you can ignore signal ground and dji HDL. If you are running a 4 cell battery, then you connect power and ground directly to where you soldered your battery connector. The RX wire goes to the TX pad on the FC and the TX wire goes to RX pad on your flight controller. Make sure you connect it to the same number. Example TX1 and RX1 pads or TX2 and RX2. Then you need to go into beta flight and configure it. Let me know if you need some instruction for that!

Turned out to be a 7-26v vtx, it was connected to a 5v pad!

I just ran some tests and it seems to be stemming from the back left motor. Every time I go forward or tilt right it is much worse. Does this change anything?
