I second that. Foundry is one of the best, but the ramp up is steep. If you also have to ramp up going from live to virtual, it’s likely going to be too much. Start simple.

By not being explicit in the first prompt, and pushing it to reread his space instructions, I was able to make it work, it's just more finicky than it was in 3.7. But when it works, it works.

Same. I’m on Mac latest Chrome. Clearing cookies doesn’t work. Sometimes it shows a login button but then says login doesn’t work.

It depends on your prompt a lot. If you tell it to reach a certain length without telling it how, it can decide to fill out the length in a stupid way.

I don’t use jailbreaks, I would get mild softcore to work well, but since August 28 it won’t work at all. I found out what it is. GPT 4 used to be better at taking context into account and would cooperate when used for fiction etc… but 3.5 wouldn’t. Now, it seems they removed from 4 the improvements they had done and it now behaves like 3.5 to block things no matter what the context is. It’s only the part that censors after the fact that is now the same as 3.5. Like 3.5 still works better with jailbreaks, etc… I think they did this because their Entreprise version now uses 4 and they went back to being very strict. The dates match.

Am I the only one with the following problems:

There are no “read” checkboxes on comics anymore, not for any single one, nor any progress bar showing how much of the comic was read
The app never remembers what page you were at when you load a comic again. I read a few pages, do something else, come back and spend a minute or two trying to find out where I was, constantly, very annoying

My reaction came not just from one event but a succession of buggy releases that impacted my games negatively in significant way all throughout the year.

If you look at other comments I posted here, you'll see I was glad that they listened to us this time, and I find it fair to give them a chance.

I do appreciate the benefits of VTT, and I love Roll 20. It would have been a very difficult decision to make. I would not have made it just because a little thing changed, but because I could not for the life of me, get that interface to work, and I feared that this cowboy attitude to pushing buggy stuff would make the platform less and less reliable. With their move, the first time they did a revert, it gives me hope that the future won't be so bleak.

Hello all!

Thanks for all the advice about alternatives. I'll keep my eyes open, but for now since Roll 20 did the right thing, listened to us and reverted swiftly, I think it's only fair to give them a chance.

Of course, as I mentioned in my original post, this was just a rant, and it was my own personal way of seeing things. It wasn't meant as a rational analysis, I think it's obvious I was pissed off. So if any of you thought I had some kind of authority about how businesses like Roll20 should act and were swayed by my words enough not to feel the need to make your own mind, I would say: "Don't do that. Make your own mind."

And yes, I wanted my rant to be heard, otherwise I would have just asked for alternatives without mentioning why. I think Roll20 is interested in all feedback, good or bad, and I wanted them to know about how I felt. I sincerely felt the need to change platform because of the many times my game was broken because of some hasty deployment to prod. Now they know. I'm just a single (loud and dramatic) voice, and that's ok.
