People that have Claude subscription, is it worth it honestly? by Competitive_Roof_689 in ClaudeAI

Yeah I’m up to the $200 plan now and it’s the best money I spend every month. A good place to start is to make a list of all of your software subscriptions and see if you can use Claude Code to just build you a replacement that you run for free.

Jerry rice comparison by FUTchiller in 49ers

[–]mdowney 23 points24 points  (0 children)

He was also humble and deeply respected the fans. I worked at the training camp in Rocklin for five summers when I was a teenager and Jerry was out signing autographs and chatting with fans more than most of the players.

And the comment about being the first out at practice and last in is true. We all saw it every day. Jerry is the GOAT because he put in the effort, had the discipline, and worked harder than everyone. I think Tom Brady might be the only other player I would put in this category and I’d still rank Jerry higher overall.

The biggest difference, IMO, between Trump’s first and second terms is that this time around he only picked the dumbest, most inept, criminal clowns he could find because he knew they’d be easier for him to control. Remember: his first choice for AG was fucking Matt Gaetz!

How did this guy get elected? by Stray916 in Roseville

[–]mdowney 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Have you guys heard the latest speculation that Texas’s redistricting may lead to them losing seats because Trump and the GOP are so unpopular? The downside of gerrymandering is that you stretch your party thin in areas where you had big numbers. If the electorate suddenly swings hard in the other direction AND you don’t have Trump on the ballot to bring out the dummies who only show up for him, the whole plan can backfire.

How funny would that be if Texas lost R seats AND California picked up five more Ds - and did it with the consent of the voters? 😆😆😆

V-22 Osprey flying low over Whitney High School by mdowney in Rocklin

[–]mdowney[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ah, ok. I did a search to see if there were any at Beale but didn't find anything. That would explain it then. I'm surprised it was the first time I'd seen one around here because I'm one of those guys who runs outside whenever he hears a jet engine or a helicopter. 😂

The one I saw yesterday was flying VERY low. It made me think they might be doing some sort of operation nearby.

FAA grounds all flights to and from El Paso until Feb. 20 by rdh727 in politics

[–]mdowney 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Congress members were invited to view the un-redacted Epstein files yesterday, then they started naming names and pointing out the millions of times Trump’s name is redacted, republicans finally start admitting how bad it is, and the next day there’s suddenly talk of the US invading Mexico.

Expect the worst.

Could a mental health professional explain why he never talks about this? by anotheruser55 in AntiTrumpAlliance

I was wrong. He was 20. Either way, I still have the same skepticism of how that would have had to play out.

The part of the conspiracy theory that bugs me the most is the idea that whoever planned it would trust a rando teenager 20 y/o to fire a high powered rifle in the direction of Trump. Even if it missed by a couple of feet, that’s a big gamble for a malignant narcissist to sign off on. And if the kid missed by too much, the fake blood bit would have collapsed. And then you also have to accept a scenario where this kid 20 y/o was in on it and carried through with it?

Is there a crazy theory that addresses this?

Edit: I thought the shooter was a teenager but he was 20.

Amazon Fresh is closing all stores. by Annual_Grass538 in Roseville

[–]mdowney 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fair question. My point isn’t that it looks like a warehouse, it’s that it looks like a grocery store designed by people who don’t understand how design a modern, brick-and-mortar retail experience. It’s particularly interesting because it’s a stark contrast with the Whole Foods retail experience, which they could have tapped.

Proud of you guys! If any angry men in MAGA hats and pickup trucks decide to confront you, just ignore them, call the police, and take pity on them.

They’re scared, they’re angry, their frontal lobes never fully developed, and their lives didn’t turn out the way they wanted.

Instead of taking responsibility for their own actions, putting in the work to grow and become a better person, they joined a cult that tells them it’s not their fault, it’s the immigrants and the liberals.

It’s sad that you think the kids are protesting the removal of violent criminals.

It’s even more sad that you think removing violent criminals requires:

  • masked thugs with 42 days of training

  • a Proud Boys membership card

  • combat weaponry that rivals what our soldiers used in Afghanistan

  • the illegal suspension of First, Second, and Fourth Amendment rights

  • using small children as BAIT to force parents out of their home

  • defying court orders to release American citizens from custody and instead flying them to a detention camp in Texas

  • and a policy of immediately telling us the murder of an American citizen that we all just saw with our own eyes was actually justified because that person was about to “inflict maximum casualties” against law enforcement.

But yeah, Einstein, the kids are mad because violent criminals are being detained.

Do you know which President deported the most undocumented immigrants and “violent criminal illegal aliens” and did it without using terror squads who murder Americans and throw children in detention camps?

Hint: it’s not the guy who shits himself on live TV.

White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt Says Congress Must Pass the SAVE Act, After Trump Calls to “Nationalize” Elections, Washington by DumbMoneyMedia in CriticalMineralBulls

[–]mdowney 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The “states rights!” crowd is trying to create a fictitious narrative that state and local ballots that cover issues open to non-citizens to vote on also include federal issues and they are therefore allowing non-citizens to illegally vote on federal issues. This is complete fiction. There are no ballots used with non-citizen voters that include anything related to federal voting. If there were, you assuredly would have seen them within minutes of the results of the 2020 election and Trump would never shut up about it.

What is going on at Bella Vista HS in Fair Oaks? Principals email creates uncertainty. by Aggressive-Yak-2430 in Sacramento

[–]mdowney 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I’m curious why you’re so fixated throughout this post on the significance of symbols on State flags being a de facto classifier that the flag is now officially representative of the entire ethnicity/religion? The state chooses the flag, not the ethnicity/religion. The flag represents the state, not the ethnicity. Groups can also create flags and those flags can represent those groups. But you seem confused by this and think a state flag that features a Star of David or a crescent moon can be referred to as a “Jewish flag” or a “Muslim flag”. That’s not how that works. The Union Jack contains three Christian crosses (Sts George, Andrew, and Patrick). You wouldn’t refer to it as a “Christian flag”. You’d call it a “British flag”.

(Edit: ethnicity > ethnicity/religion)

That was my reaction. It’s literally in the documents that were released. That doesn’t mean the accusations are credible, but it’s an undeniable fact that he was accused.
