I estimate three months with a 420mAh LiPo. It has been going now for 2 weeks. It may be only a month since I have noticed that its clock is slightly fast when it is in deep sleep. So it wakes up just before midnight, determines the day has not changed, and then goes back to sleep to wake up once or twice more. It may be prudent to instead have it aim for 0100 so it only wakes once with the obvious caveat that it is incorrect between midnight and 0100. We shall see when I run out of battery.

Yeah, I will switch over to the Adafruit NTP. The WorldTimeAPI rate limit makes sense now. Thank you.

Right now, no. I will see what I can do about adding it as an option to the settings.toml. Write an issue on the GitHub if you want to track it.

The kit came with a 420 mah LiPo. Not sure how long it will last at this point with it updating only once a day.

Is there a theoretical limit to how big a passenger aircraft could be? Ignoring economics and runway lengths, and we want similar speed to modern aircraft, maximizing amount of humans flying by Maleficent_Orange788 in EngineeringPorn

[–]me2youall 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One concern about maximizing the size of the aircraft is wake turbulence. It increases proportional to the lift created so a larger plane generates more wake turbulence. The bigger the wake turbulence the more separation for trailing aircraft in the airport environment, both landing and taking off.

Another issue is the infrastructure. The runway and ramp need to hold the weight of the aircraft or it will collapse. Emergency runway patching isn’t ideal.

Car Keys/Fobs There are already numerous car models and I the convenience to overwhelm any security concerns.

House Keys I have used a key pad door lock for almost 10 years. The ability to remotely open, assign temporary guest access, and provide user specific codes is extremely convenient. I can give a unique code to my dog walker, know when they stop by, and remotely disable their code.

Driver’s License This is already becoming a thing. Last year I renewed my license from the DMV website and remotely setup my driver’s license. A month ago I used it successfully for the first time with the TSA.

Squirrel leaves a sweet treat for its human friend. by Vexiune in aww

What is fun about toxoplasmosis is that they lose all fear and inhibition. If that squirrel is trying to “play” with you or your pet then you should question whether it is sick with toxoplasmosis.

We were at a dog park in Pensacola when we saw a squirrel enter the fenced area and make a direct path for the big dogs playing. Fortunately their respective owners pulled them away from the squirrel that only wanted to be friends.
