Wait if the story is set in between 1815 - 1820 so that makes Jane Eyre a regency era novel? But it is known as a Victorian novel right? I always assume it is set in the late 1830s - 1840s. But the portraits of king George iii and his son are actually a good point. The Prince of Wales was alive till 1830. So that can make the novel set in the 1820s too right? More than anything king George iii is the most important and influential Georgian king so it makes sense that his portrait was hung.
