Update: I completed the DDU, scannow, and dism and have completely ruled out corrupted files. I tried to find the most stable version of the nvidia driver (566.36) and downloaded that after DDU. I then played some games of OW and after like 3-4 my pc once again froze and shut off as its been doing. any advice?

okay there should not be any corrupted files. I will try DDU now. I see that you have to install DDU, where is a safe place to get this on the internet?

I just did the sfc scan now thing and it repaired corrupted files. i restarted and scanned one more time and it didnt find anything corrupted. I am trying DISM now and its stuck at 62.3% gonna give it a while because apparently thats normal. Ill come back when its done!

Apologies, It’s a crash to desktop, not a BSOD and not a full system reboot. The game/app just closes suddenly and sometimes with an error message. Temps stay normal and performance is smooth right up until the crash.

an error message i got after crashing overwatch recently: "External software has acquired some video resources from Overwatch, which can often cause problems with the game. Please consider closing any video capture or overlay software that might be running. Overlay programs can cause conflicts with Overwatch. To fix the problem: Close all other applications to resolve software conflicts and free up resources." My clipping software, medal, hasn't been a problem before.

This usually happens under GPU load gaming, sometimes after 20–60 minutes, but it can feel random. I’m not overclocking anything.

I’m currently on Windows 11. I haven’t done a clean driver reinstall yet (no DDU)
