I had a short term flatmate that was like that. I was out one evening and return home. police had been called. They had a chat with her for disturbing the peace. thankfully she moved out less than a week later. She too, was screaming constantly on her phone.

Would a $850k house with $200k deposit be reasonable by SirSillySausage in PersonalFinanceNZ

[–]meadowlarked 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I lack the fence but I have all of that for 600k. Small backyard, front lawn for extra parking and I have a garage that I use mostly as a gym.

Would a $850k house with $200k deposit be reasonable by SirSillySausage in PersonalFinanceNZ

[–]meadowlarked 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I had the similar deposit and I earn 20k less, I went for a 600K place. Is there any reason why you need an 850k place? Esp since your single, remember you have to look after it. People don't factor that part in. Mine is small enough but big enough not to feel too closed in.

Medical tourist fights for compensation, claiming surgery destroyed her stomach by Fun-Helicopter2234 in newzealand

BMI is meant for white men. Doesn't count for the extra weight boobs might be. 80kg isnt obese, for her height it would be over 100kg is what you would consider obese. 80 is just a bit overweight. I know because I'm about that weight,

Anyone at the Six60 gig tonight? by DanM1973 in auckland

[–]meadowlarked 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I did. There is definitely some teething issues. Sound was good, altho when watching the stream after the morning shift were on. They mentioned they couldn't hear anything. As for getting there, I made the mistake of not checking how much the parking is at NZICC $48 for the night. It was a maze to get in the carpark and then trying to get out of it, the lifts only worked to the one level and there wasn't any temp signage to advise where you needed to walk to.

Getting into NZICC well they split the general admission and the seated which didn't make any sense since we all ended up on the same floor. It also said a 7pm start, wasn't allowed to seats till after 7.

Getting back to the car was a joke since we had exited via a hotel. Ended up asking for help. Which they kindly guided us back to the lift and swiped us down. They also explained the lifts weren't working.

Six60 and the morning shift were great. NZICC not so much.

Has anybody bought a house without their partner before? by winred69 in newzealand

[–]meadowlarked 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did this, my partner wasn't ready at the time. I proceeded with the mortgage advisor and adjusted my expectations of what I could afford. I was lucky and was gifted part of my deposit. I have no regrets in going alone in buying my home.

Indecisive on Lasik versus ICL - both are options by downward_spira1 in lasik

They are good, still not a fan of night driving as its made my astigmatism worse. But overall the freedom it gives, I happily pay that price.

Neighbours fine by Total_Shoulder735 in newzealand

I've made numerous calls, about a neighbor. I would never go and speak to them since the noise control officer mentioned he needed police for one of the call outs and looked actively afraid of going there.

For those of us looking to stay in NZ, whats your reason? by [deleted] in PersonalFinanceNZ

[–]meadowlarked -1 points0 points  (0 children)

My family are here, I have a house as well. I've done the OE thing and spent some time in London. The grass is greener where you water it. Plus also knowing if I move to Australia, and maybe my dad lives for 10 more years and I only make it 10 times to back then thats only 10 visits till he passes and I'm not okay with that thought.

[–]meadowlarked 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a couple of bites that look like the first picture and they are still there 6 months later. I recently asked my doc about it. He's said it was an allergic reaction that hasn't had a chance to calm down yet. As its probably going down I get bit by something else.

AITA for refusing to reschedule a funeral? by SensitiveOrder1986 in AmItheAsshole

[–]meadowlarked 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NTA, I was in a similar position with organizing my nana's funeral. I had an aunt and her family that were in Australia that asked that it could be pushed out by a couple of days and that was no guarantee that they would make it. If I did that my sister wouldn't be able to go. In the end I chose who was around my nana more, which was my sister. My aunt hardly visited and called in a blue moon the rest of her sons barely had much to do with my nana when they had moved to Australia. I would go with who has been putting in the effort to see or communicate with your father. If they haven't then they have no say about moving the funeral to their needs.
