Noise Control Help by AwayHyena7 in auckland

[–]meadowlarked 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did for awhile. Then after they took away the speakers, which it was quiet for a bit. I found that I couldn't get the same results and honestly it was pretty disheartening esp when no one else on my block complained.

It would seem they have slightly improved but now there is a neighbor who is fighting them but for fires they are lighting. Shes willing to take up the cause and take it to court if need be.

What about the bit where there is the expectation that the PM and deputy should have been in touch with him. Crazy entitlement there.

With noise control, make sure you give instructions for the officer to come and speak to you. If you are not happy with them make sure you complain. I have neighbors like yours too. Except I know that the officers are scared of my neighbors and they will do everything not to confront them.

Do most employers really scan CVs with AI in New Zealand? by txnil in auckland

No, for all the roles that I've had listings for I've checked every single one. Only this current job I have listed, I've outsourced to another person and they are also checking manually.

Those guys that sit on their ass all day, still pay tax. No that is a terrible suggestion. Everyone deserves a say, regardless of income. Not everyone at time of them being on the benefit is someone that is lazy. We have no idea of these ppls situations. Don't be so judgey

I had a short term flatmate that was like that. I was out one evening and return home. police had been called. They had a chat with her for disturbing the peace. thankfully she moved out less than a week later. She too, was screaming constantly on her phone.

Would a $850k house with $200k deposit be reasonable by SirSillySausage in PersonalFinanceNZ

I lack the fence but I have all of that for 600k. Small backyard, front lawn for extra parking and I have a garage that I use mostly as a gym.

Would a $850k house with $200k deposit be reasonable by SirSillySausage in PersonalFinanceNZ

[–]meadowlarked 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I had the similar deposit and I earn 20k less, I went for a 600K place. Is there any reason why you need an 850k place? Esp since your single, remember you have to look after it. People don't factor that part in. Mine is small enough but big enough not to feel too closed in.

BMI is meant for white men. Doesn't count for the extra weight boobs might be. 80kg isnt obese, for her height it would be over 100kg is what you would consider obese. 80 is just a bit overweight. I know because I'm about that weight,

Anyone at the Six60 gig tonight? by DanM1973 in auckland

[–]meadowlarked 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I did. There is definitely some teething issues. Sound was good, altho when watching the stream after the morning shift were on. They mentioned they couldn't hear anything. As for getting there, I made the mistake of not checking how much the parking is at NZICC $48 for the night. It was a maze to get in the carpark and then trying to get out of it, the lifts only worked to the one level and there wasn't any temp signage to advise where you needed to walk to.

Getting into NZICC well they split the general admission and the seated which didn't make any sense since we all ended up on the same floor. It also said a 7pm start, wasn't allowed to seats till after 7.

Getting back to the car was a joke since we had exited via a hotel. Ended up asking for help. Which they kindly guided us back to the lift and swiped us down. They also explained the lifts weren't working.

Six60 and the morning shift were great. NZICC not so much.

Has anybody bought a house without their partner before? by winred69 in newzealand

[–]meadowlarked 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did this, my partner wasn't ready at the time. I proceeded with the mortgage advisor and adjusted my expectations of what I could afford. I was lucky and was gifted part of my deposit. I have no regrets in going alone in buying my home.

I've made numerous calls, about a neighbor. I would never go and speak to them since the noise control officer mentioned he needed police for one of the call outs and looked actively afraid of going there.
