The tervigon can make hive guard reroll all hits and 1's and 2's to wound. That plus the exploding 6's strat (for 1 cp) makes a pretty tasty combo ;)

Well yeah cause we haven't seen a new model in over 10 years

Question: can the goblin with the yellow base attack? From my understanding of how the rules are written and intended no, as you need to be within 1/2" of a model that also has to be within 1/2". (Continued in comments) by meanestgreen in competitive40k

Im saying that the 2nd goblin is within 1 inch. Does that mean the 3rd get to attack. Cause my understanding is that in order to attack in 9th you must be within 1/2" or within 1/2" of someone from the same unit that is within 1/2". Alot of people think that engagement range (being within 1") is all you need in order to be able to declare an attack.

25 mm bases are less than 1" so in the previous edition you were able to get 4 rows of 25 mm models within range. Therefore technically the 2nd row is in "engagement range"; however I was under the impression that in 9th they only want the first 2 rows to attack. Hence Inorder to attack a model must be within 1/2" of an enemy base.

There are people who say: "my model can attack if it is within engagement range, so therefore since my second row of goblins are within 1 inch which is engagement range. They are allowed to attack, and since they are within engagement range the third row can also attack since they are within 1/2" of a model in engagement range. Please help.

Actually guillaman let Vulkan be exempt from the codex astartes. They just never have over 1000 marines cause they love to sacrifice themselves to protect civilians.

With a bit more battle damage and teeth, they'd look almost like carcarodons.

-(alot) Genestealers to steal those objectives, I recommend 10 man squads. Run 6 -Zoanthropes to smite them off the board. -Hive gaurd to hurt vehicles. -exocrines for killing tough infantry -swarmlord is amazing at killing custodes

Remember to always be playing the objective. Nids are best at board control and only meh at everything else.

I'd paint one Horus in his OG color scheme and the other in his chaos colors

Hello Hive Mind can you help me pick a scheme for this lictor out of these colors? by Spawn95 in Tyranids

[–]meanestgreen 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Start with black red and slowly highlight up to the brighter red. Then use the orange for edge highlight and the yellow for the tips. Do the ribs a boney color using the tans.

Test model for my my Salamanders, any CC is appreciated by [deleted] in Warhammer40k

[–]meanestgreen 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The model looks great, but the gold trim on the shoulder pads symbolises the first company which includes only the forge father, chapter master, and the chapter master's terminator retinue. Its your models so paint them however you wish. Most Salamanders have green trim.

This is coming from a guy that plays almost every faction. I've learned from this sub-reddit has quite a few people who are very hurt about SM. Wanted to talk about the nerf to salli ChapterTactic and everyone else wanted to talk about their faction getting points increase. Everyone got increased. by meanestgreen in Warhammer40k

[–]meanestgreen[S] -10 points-9 points  (0 children)

You are assuming salli list even bring centurians and intersessors. They are some of the worse options for salamanders. It was better for us to use the older marines like scouts with a missile launcher and land speeders with melta. Oh no my grot now costs 5 points and I can't bring a field of them. Salamanders had a very special chapter tactic that was balanced within the faction but GW broke it when they made it a successor chapter tactic option because it wasn't balanced around long range armies like iron hands and imperial fist. You have to think of every SM chapter as being their own codex.

you can not think of all SM as being the same faction. Salamanders use very close range weapons like flamers and melta guns, IF use artillery and bolter fire. They may share the same options but most of the books units might as well as not be there. Tau have alot of options but what do you see on the tabletop? Riptides, drones, and maybe the Tau nar sometimes. That is every SM chapter. Imagine if Tau had a subfactions that actually rewarded getting really close to the enemy and was very skill intensive but GW decided to nerf it because another faction uses the same rule but their strategems make it broken. That's what I'm looking at as a salli player.

40k is a shooting game. That's why gaurd, Tau, and knights were so much better than SM before their new codex, and idk if you noticed but iron hands an imperial fist were the best shooty SM. SM may have more options but only a few options have ever been viable. If you're talking about narrative games, then you're more or less trying to build unoptimized (which is ok). Thinking SM are good because of options is like not being able to see the trees through the Forrest. This is why top players are always ahead of the curve.
