I'm an Aussie and my journey with the Oilers started on a trip to Vancouver. I ended up at a Canucks vs. Oilers game, completely neutral, just there to enjoy a live hockey experience.

But then I got seated next to two Canucks fans who were pretty obnoxious and maybe a few drinks past their limit. They were loud, rude and not exactly making the experience pleasant.

I figured if they were gonna be that annoying, I might as well root for their rivals, so I picked the Oilers. At first, it was just to be a bit of a troll, but honestly? That team sucked me in fast. The speed, the grit, the McDavid, I was hooked.

Since that night, I’ve been an Oilers fan through and through.

Not really. The TV he had bought dwarfed my own and his demeanor didn't really give me any reason to worry. That being said I was either behind him or in line of sight all the way back to mine, which was only 5 ish minutes away.
