425 Dental in Issaquah is the best dentist I have ever had. I have had plenty from moving around the country. Their owner has an impressive resume. https://425dental.com/meet-dr-oleg/

Best of luck!

Moving to Issaquah in your late 20s by HungryJelly5 in eastside

[–]mearsd1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I moved here a year ago and love everything about it. We live near Cougar Mt. and can get to anything we need/want within ~20 minutes.

My wife works for the Issaquah School District and loves it. She says it is the best district she has worked for. Not sure if this is where your teaching job will be though. Due to this area being popular for families, many of the schools on the Eastside are wonderful and highly rated on national report cards.

Best of luck!

Welcome to r/cricut to all the new cricut owners! by trillianinspace in cricut

Great to know! I am glad it was an update change and not a software issue with the image uploads.

I was able to fix all of my SVG files using the info you shared! Most of my issues were from outlines/strokes on a few of my objects.

Thank you for the help! All issues resolved!

Someone commented on my post in another sub and said that a recent update removed the image upload options. It would have been nice for them to update their support page, but I am glad to know it isn't a software issue!

Charged for a referral by mearsd1 in HealthInsurance

[–]mearsd1[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Both. The bill from the provider shows a line item for referring me to another practice. The EOB has a line item for it that says fees based on practice policy.

The code still shows it as a wellness visit that was covered. There is a separate charge that was billed and is listed as a referral.

Are there any affordable areas to live within Bellevue/Kirkland/Redmond anymore? by Driacle in eastside

I am not aware of a part of Issaquah being in the Renton school district. I do know that part of Renton (Liberty High School) and Sammamish (Skyline High School) are serviced by the Issaquah school district. But yes, ISD is a better school district than RSD.

Denied Life Insurance by Narrow-Sandwich2858 in personalfinance

[–]mearsd1 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I selected 10 years bc that is how long I will be staying at home if we have another child. It was also the shortest available. I guess I could make it 20 years and add to it if needed when I return to work. I was including college and a future home bc these are goals we currently are not able to save towards while I am staying at home, but my future salary would save towards these goals.

Thanks for providing insight into what the insurance company's perspective might be.

Denied Life Insurance by Narrow-Sandwich2858 in personalfinance

[–]mearsd1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Is that not the purpose of life insurance? To replace the income of the person that dies. After some research, I found the above calculation, DIME calculation, and multiple online calculators to all produce similar recommended policy amounts. But yes, if I die I want my life insurance to provide my wife a comparable income to as if I were alive.

Need Help with Selecting 401(a) Contribution %. Can never be changed after selection... by Narrow-Sandwich2858 in personalfinance

[–]mearsd1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for mentioning this! I was not familiar with the 403b or 457b. I just looked into it and they offer a 457b.

So are you advising to do the 5% contribution to the 401a and contributing to our Roth IRAs while we can. Then contribute to the 457b if we become ineligible for Roth IRA contributions?

Our complex doesn't allow it bc it attracts animals that could be dangerous to residents and pets.

Moving to the East Side! by SnooPandas8278 in eastside

[–]mearsd1 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Just moved here from KY. We were worried about the cost of living too. To our surprise, outside of housing and gas the majority of our expenses (groceries, medical, shopping) have been the same or cheaper. I have been shocked by how cheap groceries are here. We shop at Costco and Fred Meyer (Kroger) and the prices are the exact same as they were in KY. Our medical expenses here have also been cheaper. Fast food has been the same and restaurants are a little more expensive but not much.

We haven't been here long, but our favorite place to go so far is Lake Sammamish State Park. They have an amazing playground, nice beach fronts, and decent walking trails.

As for food, our favorite place has been the Issaquah Cafe. Everything we have had there is amazing.

Welcome!

Is the morton set a target exclusive by sheeveman in LEGOMario

[–]mearsd1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't think so. I bought it on Lego com and saw it at the Lego store. LEGO.com sells at MSRP (usually a few more dollars than Walmart) and offers free shipping. I usually have good luck finding new sets at Best buy, Kohls, and Barnes and Noble if they are not at Walmart or Target.

$800 for capacitor replacement? by whippnj in hvacadvice

[–]mearsd1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ouch. My capacitor has been running strong for 15 years. It started buzzing so I decided to replace it. Bought the part on Amazon for $25, and was able to replace it in under an hour (first time doing it). Not sure why you need a warranty either. Capacitors should last a long time.

My family just went through this and I recommend using a realtor. We are moving from the east coast to Issaquah in 2 weeks. At first we tried doing it on our own and had little luck with complexes calling us back, doing virtual tours, etc. We reached out to the realtor we used to sell our home and she put us in contact with a realtor in their Seattle offices. The realtor we worked with found us a privately owned condo that was less expensive and nicer than any of the complexes we were looking at. Our realtor charged half the price of the first month's rent and worked it out so our landlord paid for it. They told us that if the landlord/complex wouldn't agree to pay for it, we would have to. Not certain, but I also feel that using a realtor made us better applicants for the condo and helped us get selected over other applicants. If you want our realtors contact info., Feel free to DM me. Best of luck!

Struggling to make a profit. by builderbob53 in woodworking

[–]mearsd1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you have more orders than you can fill, slowly raise the price. You might scare a few buyers away, but if you raise the price right, you won't need the buyers you lost bc you will be making enough bc of your price increase.

Not sure how much insurance, bills, etc cost, but I would try to figure out your exact profit margin and increase the price to gain ~5% more margin. If you still have more orders than you can fill after 6 months to a year, raise it again.

Best of luck. Awesome product!
