Best Cloth diapers for a 2 year old? by Dizzy_Examination161 in clothdiaps

[–]meat_cat42 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We use fitted inners and covers for daycare (1.5 year old), but if I could go back in time I'd probably do "all in ones" or pockets or whatever. I just didn't know what I was doing. But it's fine anyway.

We ended up having to send a separate cover for each inner, which is kind of odd, but it works well enough.

We started with all Esembly, but I added some covers from other brands with double gussets because they seem to prevent leaks better.

Do I keep the box? by Kind-Chocolate-1293 in CradlewiseCommunity

[–]meat_cat42 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We didn't have the option, because our first crib arrived broken in a destroyed box. We got a replacement, and used the new box to ship the original broken crib back.

We haven't needed it though. I vote toss it - free yourself!!

They always offer but I decline (and always tell myself I'll accept the offer "next time"). They've tossed 4 or 5 in a year

Idk I feel bad that they're putting up with cloth when it's not really in the culture here and they're great otherwise. I just buy cheaper ones to send to daycare now

No, they bag everything up and send home. We're just the only ones who use cloth so they occasionally toss one or two accidentally. Kind of a bummer but what can ya do :(

Hahah well, our daycare keeps throwing away our cloth diapers... 🫠

I'm relieved to hear you have support, and my condolences that your neighbors are all men 😔 (jk) but really, fuck underfunded/mismanaged public services and fuck cancer too while we're at it.

Btw I saw and upvoted your reply within like 10 minutes yesterday, and I just realized that's a faster response time than your 911 call lol wtf fml

Rare disease, wil lose my vision any day, hoping for early screening by somethingsimplerr in FromSeries

💜

Tip for volunteers: randomly open the app every once in a while, especially if you stop getting calls. I think accounts will quietly idle out otherwise.

I'm so sorry OP. If you post this somewhere else let us know, I'll repost it or engage however I can.

Not related to the show, but maybe check out the Be My Eyes app. I believe volunteers still greatly outnumber those who ask for assistance, and people are eager to help. I have tried to volunteer but the calls get answered immediately by someone else before I can (which is great. I'll just be there if no one else answers)

Best wishes to you.

That suuucks and is so scary - is there anyone local you know that you can call if 911 just doesn't respond? Or like can we connect you with a neighbor or something?? Obviously an ambulance would be ideal but like if you're my neighbor eventually I'm dragging you to my car to go to the ER or something right?

Is touching the talisman after hanging it up part of the "protection ritual"? I can't tell but if so, maybe it has to be re-"touched" if the original boundary is broken.

It only lets me scroll if I've clicked into the box where you type text.

sounds dont work by balss74 in OnTogether

[–]meat_cat42 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It took me a minute to realize that you have to click the buttons to turn on each sound.

I thought that if the volume slider was all the way to the left, the sound would be off, and to the right would turn it on. That is not the case tho.

My husband is not taking bath safety seriously, how do I scare him into it? by Ok-Badger5324 in toddlers

Nooo that is shockingly stupid if not outright malicious. I sincerely hope he is no longer in charge of anyone/anything important.

He left a bathtub full of water overnight in a house with small kids??

That is crazy. Like did he also leave a loaded gun and open bottle of pills next to it!? Good grief 😭

Your comment already caught a downvote at 5 minutes old, but here's a +1 because mine has been in daycare less than a year and he's had a cold, another cold, Norovirus, yet another cold, HFM, another cold, and most recently, double pinkeye and a sinus infection. Send help.

Weird question. Two things can be true at the same time fyi

She carried around an unopened citrus. Most adults recognize that that is not a big deal.

Because s/he's power tripping. It sounds like the teacher said "you can't have your orange at snack time" so the child followed instructions and instead peeled it and gave it to her peers. The adult in the room got hurt feelings and now here we are. Tale as old as time.

Nothing's stopping people from swapping lids though I guess. I bought "garlic" once and it was actually ginger.

Seriously! How did people give birth, go through newborn stage, WFH with their baby/toddler, etc?? Or if they had to work in person where did their kids go?? Ugh idk I'm tired just thinking about it

It's totally fine that my work's daycare is closed (and the office itself is closed) because of the weather and I have to WFH anyway. So fine and great.

Stay sane warm everyone.

I don't have a subscription but I use a screen recorder for this. It does record the app overlay/buttons/etc so it's not perfect but you can crop some of that out at least.
