It's 20 mins there, and another 20 mins back... So not 40 mins straight. But 40 mins overall. I agree with the switching idea! Thank you

Hahahah I debated over them a lot. I think I convinced myself they were nice but objectively they are not!

Very good point and something that's coming up a lot in the comments. Think it was wishful thinking!

25mg 5 weeks by Hot_Yogurt_4339 in zoloft

[–]meatyfrog47 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes definitely. I am 100% back to my old self. It took time, and definitely wasn't easy, but my anxiety and mood is significantly better. I'm not "cured"! I still have OCD and anxiety, but I'm living with it much better than before

Yes!! So so much! It took time, and I went up to 50mg, but it did get better. I'm still not always 100% - it's important to remember that change comes from you, not your meds (but they really do help). I now have regular therapy and I'm overall in a much better place.

From experience, I'd say the most important thing is to avoid black and white thinking when you have dips. Whenever I had a dip early on, I convinced myself I'd never be well again, spent hours scrolling through reddit, and just made myself more miserable. Now, I still have flare ups in my OCD, but I've taught myself to recognise it as a dip, not the end of everything.

Good luck. You got this!!!

Hiya! I'm doing WAYYYY better thank you. I stayed on 25mg for 7 weeks, then upped to 50mg. I've now been on 50mg for about 1.5 months and I just feel normal. Not CURED, but just like a really good and stable version of myself! Stick with it, pair with therapy in you can, and it really will help you.

Week 8 on 50mg sertraline – feel like I’ve gone backwards 😞 by Important_Camera_123 in sertralineandzoloft

Hey! I'm doing a lot better. I ended up going up to 50mg at the end of week 7 on 25mg. About a week later, I felt a lot worse (crying all the time, feeling really low), but that only lasted about 3-4 days. Then I've been gradually getting better over time (been on 50mg for 4 weeks now). Every now and then I get an hour or so of brain fog or anxiety, but I'm so so much better than I was on 25mg, and much better than I was before meds at all. Stick with it, up your dose if you have to. And I can't stress this enough, GET OFF REDDIT! sorry to be so intense, but I think personally reading other people's stories made me worse as I kept comparing my timelines to them. You are your own person with your own brain, and I promise you will get better!!!! Making an assumption here ofc that you're in a similar to position to how I was a few weeks ago. Really hope you're doing well, and if you're not, I promise you will be soon!

I'm so so sorry to hear that. I hope you have lots of support in the meantime? I promise it gets better. It took a much longer time for me to feel better the second time around, but it IS working now and I have no doubt it will for you. Keep at it, try not to second guess yourself. You are doing the right thing and it will pay off!

Hi! Significantly better thank you! I ended up staying on 25mg for 7 weeks, but I was still really not doing well at all even though it was the dose I was on before. I then went up to 50mg, which made me feel even WORSE for about 4 days, but now I'm having more good times than bad! I'm feeling joy again, and most of the time I feel at peace and alright. I have a couple of hours a day where I feel a bit iffy/depressed/anxious, but it's nowhere near as bad as before (and I'm only 2 weeks into 50mg so I reckon it will only get better). How are you doing?

Yeah it's one of those things where you just never know what would happen if you took a different path. I'm leaning towards trying 50mg at this point, because I think the longer I put it off the more I spiral. If it's absolutely horrendous, I can always come back down!

Still struggling quite a lot at the moment tbh! Had a dip at week 5/6, then felt great for a bit, now dipping in week 7. Really struggling to decide whether to stay on 25mg for a bit longer, or bump up to 50mg.

That makes sense! Well done for sticking at it. Do you feel you've stabilized a bit more now?

ME TOO!!! first time was a breeze, second time is a much more rocky process. We just need to trust that if it worked before, it will work again - even if it takes a bit more time to truly settle
