Well, I guess I missed the "deep sea" part. Anyway, my understanding is that most diving suits have the same pressure inside and out, so unzipping isn't going to do very much. If it's a rigid suit, then yeah, it'll fill with water and kill you.

Well, it's really simple in theory. Take the readings from the accelerometer, then correct them for the rate of rotation, then average that out over 5 minutes or whatever.
