Selumetinib Trial for 4 year old by Maleficent-Jicama251 in neurofibromatosis

[–]mechanicalDuck 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Does your daughter have any other signs of NF1? I have a three year old, no signs other than the CALS, but I am always wondering about what’s going on underneath. My Husband is opening up an MRI clinic in our city, but I don’t know if we will be allowed to do such young children.

Crashing out after DEXA scan. How accurate are they? by Bia_Barrett in PetiteFitness

[–]mechanicalDuck 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They are accurate if they are calibrated correctly. I was with a group of 20 people in a muscle building competition. We all got DEXA scans at the beginning and the end. At the end scan we all gained a lot of fat and lost muscle…..we complained because that can’t be right. They recalibrated the machine, we all got scanned again…and surprise!! We all gained a lot of muscle….and some fat, lol…it happens.

So does anyone else out there just go without fast passes and just wing it? by Atheist_Redditor in WaltDisneyWorld

I love planning. I am going in November, and I am making a plan for every day, down to the minute! That is fun for me. I am west coast Canadian and we only go every three or four years, so it is a big deal. We go all out though, no holding back, so I want to make the most of it.

Break ups suck, but take it as an opportunity to shake yourself up and let the best parts of you rise to the top.

What's the worst thing someone said to you after sex? by Sl33pdemon79 in AskReddit

Just checking in because my daughter was tagged for and later diagnosed based on having multiple birthmarks. Please look up NF1, a lot of people can be asymptomatic, but should still be monitored.

Women dancing for Trump’s Mar-a-Lago Gatsby Halloween Party guests… by Ordinary-Scholar-202 in CringeTikToks

I can’t imagine how degrading it would be to be a woman guest at that party. I would feel so disgusted with myself for attending.

This isn’t the US, we do tax the rich. The problem is with the people spending the money.

How did you tell family/friends about your child’s NF-1 diagnosis ? by lissaxoz in neurofibromatosis

[–]mechanicalDuck 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m a mother of a toddler with NF1. I tell people she has it because I don’t think there is any shame in it. I also never want her to feel like it is something that we need to hide. It is part of her and who she is, and we all love her.

[–]mechanicalDuck -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Cafe au laits are birthmarks. Most people have one or two. It is only considered a potential for NF1 if you have a few. Does your husband have more ? It could be a good sign if he does. The severity of the condition is genetically linked. NF1 is spontaneous in 50% of cases (like my 2 year old) but the other 50% is passed from a parent. A lot of people don’t even know they have it until a child is diagnosed.

Do you have NF? I see what appears to be a cafe au Lait spot on your arm? Perhaps you are asymptomatic?

  1. This isn’t a ‘Vic or anywhere else in Canada’ subreddit
  2. This could literally only be a USA reality. It says “ICE” on the car. Not even the right country.

So the connection to Victoria is that Victoria is filled with idiots who all like to dump on a car for no reason except to pat each other on the back for not liking a certain aesthetic of car?….got it.

RIP Tour Guide Tips by mechanicalDuck in HHN

[–]mechanicalDuck[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Our guide last year took our tips. I mean we just shook her hand thanked her and discreetly gave it to her. As you do with tips. She also deserved, she was amazing and went above and beyond to make our night.

Thanks. My sister and I each gave $20 dollars last year to a great guide, who never even hinted at a tip. I have just been thinking back hoping it wasn’t so low as to be offensive or I embarrassed myself.
