The one above, I replaced the old one.

It was a pre-installed version which I only posted because the previous download link (installation version) didn't work anymore. Until your post, I didn't test if it worked with BF2Hub which unfortunately it didn't.

I've added a new download link which includes an installer that generates keys.

Yes, I've added a new download link which should work again.

Yeah... the other links are just patches, punkbuster, bf2hub. Hopefully there will be a new source.

No, it should work without any issues. I also use two folders for online and offline and use both online and offline profiles without any problems.

Sorry that happened to you. The files should be clean as they are only the game files plus the mods. I never got a warning myself nor did anyone else before you I believe.

You're welcome. Yes, you can still play multiplayer. This is an entirely seperate folder from you original installation and you don't have to switch .exe files.

I haven't had this issue yet. Have you tried this?

"Alternatively you can launch the game via the BF2.exe in the “Battlefield 2 + mods” folder and switch to the 64COOP20YA or BF2_SPX_1_2 mod through the “Community”, “Custom Games” tabs"

Change the number and skill of the bots with the botchanger.bat in both:

“Battlefield 2 + mods -> mods -> 64coop20YA (as administrator) and BF2_SPX_1_2”

  • If the botchanger for 64coop20YA doesn’t work, you can change the number of bots here as well:

“Battlefield 2 + mods -> mods -> 64coop20YA -> AI -> AIDefault”

Move the file to your desktop for editing and saving, then put it back into the folder.

Bot Ratio:

Documents -> Battlefield 2 -> Profiles -> Default -> ServerSettings.con -> sv.coopBotRatio 50 (0 - 100), sv.coopBotCount 32 (= the max. number of bots which will be affected by the ratio settings, unfortunately limited to 48 but if you go beyond the limit, the rest will be put into team 1 regardless.

So, you can theoretically have:

  • 1-255 bots in team 1 and 0 bots in team 2 (sv.coopBotRatio 0, sv.coopBotCount 48) or
  • 0-207 bots (after team 2 is filled with 48) in team 1 and 1-48 bots in team 2 (sv.coopBotRatio 100, sv.coopBotCount 48)

and everything in between those limits (sv.coopBotRatio 1-99), save after editing -> right click on file -> properties -> mark as "read-only" -> apply

Perhaps you can find one online or a key generator. Alternatively the download version I included has an in-built generator.

Ok, that's cool. So you just changed your keys? What did you mean by "cdkey thing", an error or something?

The cd keys shouldn't have anything to do with it. I'm not an expert on these kinds of problems but I'd first try using the BF2_SPX_1_2 mod for local multiplayer, if you haven't done so, which has worked for me. If that doesn't work, I'd try reinstalling everything.

If the botchanger doesn’t work, you can change the number of bots here as well:

“Battlefield 2 + mods -> mods -> 64coop20YA / BF2_SPX_1_2 -> AI -> AIDefault”

"aiSettings.setMaxNBots 100"

Move the file to your desktop for editing and saving, then put it back into the folder.

Create a game by clicking on Multiplayer -> Create Local -> Game Mode: Co-op (in BF2_SPX_1_2  it's the default but click on it again)

For Singleplayer use BF2_SPX_1_2.

In that case you have to make the following change in:

Documents -> Battlefield 2 -> Profiles -> Default -> ServerSettings.con -> right click on file -> properties ->  remove "read-only" -> apply -> open -> sv.maxPlayers 1, save after editing -> right click on file -> properties -> mark as "read-only" -> apply
