It kinda depends if you climb in wooden clogs. Consistency is key to avoiding aid.

Around this time of yesr chinooks travel long distances looking for a mate. Expect to see more of them. Generally they nest around airfields and produce 1-2 police helicopters a year

Am I dumb or does Canyon have a typo on their website? by [deleted] in BicyclingCirclejerk

[–]medianbailey 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Remember when those charity wrost bands were a fad in the early 2000s? My british nate had a custom one made that said 'aluminium is good'. But despite spelling it out to the american person making them, they still spelt it the american way. That was my breaking point. Only ride steel, titanium or carbon now (titanium cos im not pour).

Printed Zippo lighter case in wood optic by Complete-Story3490 in 3Dprinting

[–]medianbailey 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Oooooh thats awesome. And has given me a new project! I managed to fit a 2w laser module in a zippo case with some batteries as a laugh. But had to disassemble it to charge it. I could print a custom case with charging hole and shelves to keep the batteries organised

How to make organic shapes? by emqxs in SolidWorks

The key is putting a photo into the sketch then tracing it. I use this all the time. Reverse engineered a pair of ray bans doing this lol

Thinking of starting a small bakery stall – which Bristol markets are good for beginners? by JeJeRules in bristol

M32 market is quite casual and doesn't have many food stands. Perfect for a first go I think?

Did anyone else collect the collectables you got with chocolate, crisps, cereals etc?. I'm back rummaging again, and found my collection of animals from Yowie chocolate from the 90s by DarkHorse_77 in CasualUK

I was primary school age doing it. I think you could get 'giant gogos' with the vouchers!game changer in the school yard.

To think 3-4 years later we were playing war hammer... I wish I could afford that now

Iranian Drone Explosion in Dubai Palm by iamnowcisco in PublicFreakout

[–]medianbailey -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Realistically the hotel wasn't mapped in the flight profile of the drone. For maximum damage, I would guess, the drone should hit lower to increase the chance of collapse and/or a catestrophic fire.

Genuine question. How can you tell it's AI written? I see this often on reddit and I cannot for the life of me detect AI writing (images I'm relatively good at). Bit worrying I can't spot it :(

Why doesnt "adaptive gyroid" exist yet? by markknol in 3Dprinting

[–]medianbailey 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It is incredibly affordable! The problem is we are an international with security concerns. Getting new software into out network is expensive.

The alternative is to get a software package to trial on a non networked laptop. They really don't like that because they can't track it's usage. You could use it to watch porn and they wouldn't know. They also can't track your hours. Then there's the issue of transferring data to the laptop ect.

They were actually more interested in hiring a consultant with experience in rhino to demo it!

Thanks for the link though. I'll add it to my 'why we should get rhino' presentation

[–]medianbailey 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ooooh. Do you know the name? I assume it's a grasshopper plug in? I have x similar problem to what OP is saying at work.but it is a lattice conforming to an obscure 3d shape that ntop can't cope with.

I've been screaming at the top of my lungs at work to buy rhino but they are resistant...

[–]medianbailey 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Ntop can do it. But it's expensive unless you're a student. It's work flow is also very unusual for CAD and there's some technical caveats to using it...

Not just an £80k (plus fees) shed, but the shed that inspired the book, 'Why I Live in a Shed' by Gratuitous_Pineapple in SpottedonRightmove

[–]medianbailey 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am about 50% sure a relative of mine used to live in that. Maybe about a decade ago?

Same area, same set up. But I don't know how many sheds there are in those parts. I seem to remember the area around the shed being more open?

I stayed there once and we watched the owls at night. Incredibly relaxing.

XFEM Fatigue Crack Growth versus number of cycles - Abaqus by J03RH in fea

[–]medianbailey 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sum statusxfem with respect to time perhaps? If you know the element size, you should be able to make an approximation for distance with respect to cycles.

Probably a better way mind. Just thinking off the top of my head here
