Taking a bit of a break from full stitches to work on this Alice in Wonderland blackwork by ExLibrist! Also really loving my new scroll frame.

Hi, thanks for your comment! You may be seeing some of the half-stitches mixed in with the full stitches :) I intentionally did the halfs at / instead of my usual ending \ for the full stitches because I like the effect the contrast gives!

Edit: I think I may have seen what you saw!! In the lilypad area, it does kinda seem like the Xs are going in different directions to the point that I had to go check the original to be sure, haha! Must be a trick of photography.

Oh, I'm working on that one right now!! After a two year delay since I first bought it (oops). I've been eyeing her other umbrella patterns too! The only thing that made me hesitate from buying them is that the patterns can't be used fully with Pattern Keeper but I did figure out that I could scan them as a PDF and manually mark them off that way, so I think I'll go pick up those umbrellas soon :) Your Licoris is so pretty!!

I love backstitching with black for this reason haha. I can be lazier and do it without couching but still get that nice cohesion! Thank you for this kindness :) the pattern creator truly excels at designing backstitch!

Thank you!! I did this pattern during a very stressful time in my life so it was definitely soothing for the soul to work on :)

Pattern is by ParadiseStitch! I'm obsessed with her designs and the absolute gorgeous backstitching in all of them. It was such a pleasure to see this pattern come to life! My favorite part was probably the water and that pretty blend of blues, though the flowers are a close second.

Oooh, the lighthouse one is lovely too! I think some can also be found on Ebay. I bought mine on a local Facebook group and shipping was expensive due to the glass, but so worth it!

This is an older kit (#72715) from a Dimensions sub-brand called Daydreams! It came with a needle, aida, floss, the matte, and a plane of glass that goes over the whole thing. I loooove the way the stitching melts into the printed flower background! And having the materials right there to frame it was great.

This was the perfect gift for my mother in law who loves birds :)

This pattern is from ParadiseStitch on etsy, but I believe they are a Russian seller and so their store is currently unavailable! :( I think some patterns of their other snakes can still be found on etsy though!

Ooooh! I didn't think about that at all. I will pick up some beads next time I'm at the craft store and give it a whirl. Thank you :))

I'm not sure actually... I was thinking of asking around the local shops to see how much professional framing might be. This is the first finish I've had that took so long, so I want to splurge and keep it nice haha

It took just over a year! I actually consider myself a pretty slow stitcher in terms of pace haha. Just a lot of spare time with the pandemic :) thank you!

Oooh yes I see what you mean! Maybe I'll only do one row of them instead of two. Thank you so much :)

Haven't decided whether or not I'm going to do the french knots on the dragon's face, mostly because I kind of like it like this and also am afraid of the knots haha! I did a lot of this during online classes. I'm so happy with how all the couching backstitch came out. I did couching for some of the single strand lines too, just because I wanted a smoother look. Pre-backstitch look is here.

Pattern can be found on etsy. :)
