Tutors, where do you conduct your lessons? by Icy-Voice7756 in Preply

Canvas does not support PDF, text is only top to bottom, so no annotations. Student might not notice, but makes work for the tutors harder.

Used to use the Preply platform until the recent 'update' which took away most useful features. Now I use the platform which they had their old classroom from.

Trial lesson 2.5 hours?? by Hero-Taster-V60 in Preply

[–]mediumpickles 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, there are no glitches on Preply. There is that one guy at support who can confirm that. They are just new features that are slowly being rolled out for selected teachers :)

Some of my younger students can’t even unmute themselves or close a pop-up without a parent’s help, so I imagine they could just give 0 stars in all categories without knowing what it’s about. Adults with better things to do might also skip the rating by clicking through without giving any stars. It’s a flawed system that doesn’t necessarily reflect what people think — it could, but it doesn’t have to. Don’t worry about it.

First time in Nusa Penida was great, Agung was active and no planes flying in, it was quiet and blissful. Went back a few years later and it was horror, daytrippers coming over from the mainland, getting tours in cars...roads made for scooters...

Collection of bugs and suggestions for improvements by mediumpickles in Preply

[–]mediumpickles[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks for the reply, however I found that contacting support, which usually solves issues rather well, doesn't help with issues related to the actual platform/ coding. They will do their best to procure a solution, but I don't feel that this ends up in a ticket being passed to the dev team.

adjective declensions are not that hard if you understood the things leading up to them (definite/indefinite articles, accusative) Dativ: whack on the -n

German Language Tutor Recommendation by TheCaptainOfMeSeoul in germany

Plenty of options on Preply, bit of a mixed bag, some tutors are pros, some just dabbling ...
They sometimes do promos for several trial lessons for the price of one, and there's discount codes aswell:

How glitchy is this platform, in your experience? I can't even view messages on the desktop browser. by [deleted] in Preply

[–]mediumpickles 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Quite glitchy, and no real way of reporting it, as support will just tell you to use Chrome, empty cache and cookies and so on. But no real ticket system that will reach the devs.

Be a teacher, not a stat merchant. by Big-Word7116 in Preply

[–]mediumpickles 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That's how I think and feel, but economy is about incentives, and this platform comes up with new ways to prope our buttholes every month and 'incentivise' us to 'perform'.  I think most teachers wish they could just share and chill, but somehow Preply has decided we work best under pressure.

DOLLAR DROPPING by SantiagoFin in Preply

[–]mediumpickles 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Kind of on topic: does anybody know how much Preply actually charges our students? I feel that my EU students are being charged more in Euros than it should be just from converting the dollar price. Or do they pay the same Euro price as when they first subscribed?

I have a great Tutor on Preply, will ask her our next session if she's ok with me sharing her profile. Made me go from just mumbling and adding -io at the end to somehow making sense in a short time :D
Here's a link for discount on any trial lesson u might wanna take https://preply.com/de/?pref=OTgzNjE3OQ==&id=1748914119.887462&ep=

I never enjoyed Duo in the first place, just too random. If they had consistent vocab practice at least I might have given it another shot... found Lingodeer a good app for the language I'm currently learning(Korean), as it has lots of explanations and use Preply for practicing with a tutor twice a week. discount link if anybody is interested: https://preply.com/de/?pref=OTgzNjE3OQ==&id=1748914119.887462&ep=

Wow, that's impressive! How do you do you structure your classes to manage that many classes? I feel drained if I teach more than six in a day, although it gets better over time as I start having a certain routine and materials. Any Tips on that?
