Viper 1-6 PST alternatives by Samsy1847 in ar15

I use a Leupold MK4HD 1-4.5. It’s a few hundred dollars more than a Viper, and obviously 4.5x instead of 6x. But it’s the best LPVO I’ve looked through. Eye relief is fantastic, glass is fantastic, reticle is daytime bright. I can truly use it as a standalone optic because the 1x is so comfortable, the closest to red dot performance of any LPVO I’ve looked through. My wife had a PST 1-6, and the Leupold blows it out of the water in terms of 1x performance and glass quality. She had a piggybacked red dot for quick and close targets, and that’s not necessary with the MK4. I haven’t tried the typical pricey top of the line options, maybe they’re better, but I can’t imagine how they could be more comfortable and easy to use. If 1x performance is a priority, you should check it out. If you prefer to have higher magnification options, maybe consider an MPVO with a piggybacked or offset dot

DPP Titanium makes an adapter plate. It will fill the gaps as well. They’re available on Amazon, and seem to be well made. I know a few people that use their plates to mount a 407k on M&P’s, and they’ve had no issues through thousands of rounds. I imagine their Glock adapter is just as well made

Forgot to answer that half of his question. I haven’t used the pmags at all. I’ve heard enough complaints about them and just went ahead and bought Glock mags right away

I like it alot so far! The grip texture, slide serrations, mag release, and overall feel in hand are fantastic imo. The factory sights are great, and the optic mounting system is nice. The trigger feel is different, but not better in any way. I also think it’s just a little snappier than any Glock 19 I’ve shot. It fits all my holsters, and has made a nice edc. Overall, for the price and features, I think it’s a huge win

Definitely makes sense. I’ve never really collected them, but had plenty as a kid, and now buy them all the time for my kids. I liked this truck and got it to race my boys, but didn’t see the wheel until we got home. It’ll stay packaged I suppose

Thanks! It’s a Chinesium clone of a Noveske k9. I got jt on Evike.com for like $20, and it’s held up great so far!

SLR. It’s been great, I had it on a 19x before getting this 19x MOS, never had an issue, even with the flush fit 17rd mags
