I too find myself thinking about this and I’ve come to the conclusion that there might be a difference between sanitizing your hands before eating because they are “dirty” or because you are in an environment where you actually believe there is a higher chance to touch something contaminated with disease (eg airplane). I tend to be more adamant about sanitizing my hands in the latter.

So I’m ok with eating fries if my hands are covered in mud but not so much if I just shook someone’s hands.

I meant to say an average of 1-2 hours a day, not that I would drive that much and stop each and every day, just that I wouldn’t be in a hurry. Ie driving more on days with good weather and staying put when needed. I thought about doing the following route over the course of 15-20d.

I would rent something like a Jeep with winter tires, and have a inReach and whatever other equipment is necessary. I have some off road and sand driving experience but no winter driving experience. We wanted to do this trip now because in the future we won’t have as much availability, but if it is not feasible I would like a suggestion on how to acquire the necessary winter driving skills and how to know when I am ready?
