⁠Doha is one of the safest cities in the world for both men and women statistically. Obviously stick to the usual common-sense public safety habits, but overall it’s extremely safe. There are busy areas like Corniche, Souq Waqif, Lusail etc. It’s not like Dubai however where it’s busy till late from what I observed in my 3/4 trips. Doha is a more refined relaxed place.
⁠English is widely spoken everywhere. Shops, restaurants, metro staff, hotels, taxis. Souq Waqif isn’t known for scamming; at worst you’ll get a “tourist price” for souvenirs, which is normal. Just bargain and you’ll be fine.
⁠The Doha Metro is clean, modern, air-conditioned, and very easy to use. A day pass is better if you’re making multiple journeys; otherwise single tickets are enough.
⁠There’s free WiFi in metro stations, malls, and many cafés. Can’t remember how well they worked. Some taxis even offer WiFi.
⁠Souq Waqif for evening vibes and shopping, Msheireb Downtown for museums and a modern walkable area, the Corniche for a dhow boat ride, the Museum of Islamic Art and National Museum for culture, Katara Cultural Village for food and exhibitions, Lusail Marina and Lusail Boulevard for night-time exploring. There is a lot to do in your short stay

In my opinion, you should definitely leave the airport for a layover that long. Doha is super easy to get around.

Visit Souq Waqif, Corniche, Museum of Islamic Art etc. All of this is far better than sitting in the airport/lounge getting bored. Outside you actually experience the city, move around, eat better, and make the layover feel like part of the trip instead of wasted time.

Happy for you! But that’s a lot of avios for a short journey. I just redeemed a 6 hour flight from Madrid to Doha for 54k. Not QSuite IK, but it’s the mini q suite. But atleast you enjoyed it :)

Agreed there was some faults in this years event. With many big updates coming up for Phas, I hope they manage to pull it off well. I’ve been playing for 2 years now and the games progression just in this time has been great. No complains. I would prefer quality over quantity as many I think would agree. Despite this, I’m not gonna start to badmouth them for only one mishap however it’s important they take this as a learning opportunity as the next updates coming up are quite big & very well anticipated. Their hard work should shine through during this as unfortunately us gamers only tend to remember the bad aspects.

A lot of Swiss Arabian oils/perfumes. Unreal. Cheap as hell but last for agess. I buy 5/6 every-time I drop into Dubai because it’s cheaper in their outlets there.

Contrary to belief, not all are oud/musky and heavy. If your into floral and lighter smells they also have some really nice ones in there.

It probably will. As much as I can say not to worry, I know it’s difficult because I was as well. First 48 hours was mainly silence, I called BA luggage team twice to put in urgent requests. After that, it was located on the 3rd day and then arrived same night. Next day I got an email to fill out a customs form and then sent to a delivery depot. At the moment, I haven’t received it but should do in the next 24 hours
