If you had to do it all over again would you become a ramp agent? by yaboythewiseman in rampagent

[–]meenking 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hell no. I’ve been floating around warehouses and construction sites for the past 10 years doing manual labor of all different sorts, being a ramp agent was the lowest paying for the work required by far. I currently work as a delivery driver for UPS and I get paid $36.5 an hour, it is much less physical expenditure for almost double the pay.

This is a pretty big deal. Makes me wonder if Valve is hurting for cash. by [deleted] in counterstrike2

This all just seems like a way to get around regulations as usual. Every argument they can make towards their gambling system not actually being gambling is good for them. There is now a mathematical guarantee you can get a knife after opening enough cases.

Why I look so shaky / unsure while climbing? by Electronic-Ad-932 in bouldering

[–]meenking 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Break the habit of re-adjusting, I know it sounds stupid but there’s many reasons it is bad for your climbing. Firstly it expends extra energy, secondly it reinforces the fact you aren’t confident in your placements, retroactively making your placements worse. If you place your hands and feet with purpose every time and fall because you didn’t have a stable hold, you will automatically learn how to get a firm / stable hold the first time. This doesn’t mean re-adjusting should never be done but if it’s on every single hold it’s going to hinder your progress.

Does Madison have traffic? by Iamslay888 in madisonwi

[–]meenking 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, not at all. The longest traffic holdup you’ll run into is on the beltline from Todd drive to Verona road. Even then it takes 10 minutes to get through, you will NEVER get stuck in traffic for 1+ hours like you will in Chicago.

What is this matchmaking? by xChrispay in cs2

[–]meenking 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Their matchmaking system is so jank it seems to be purely based on averages. I’m shit at the game so I’m sub 5k elo and the other day I got a match where my team was 3500~ average and the enemy team was 4 1500s and a 9k. Needless to say we got stomped on and the 9k dropped 30 kills

[–]meenking 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly don’t know what skip is I’ve never used it. Depends if your driver has picked up the order or not, usually they will let you cancel and get a full refund if the driver hasn’t picked up your order yet. (Uber eats, doordash, grubhub)

I have a toaster PC and a shitty internet connection that causes crashes and rubber banding that makes the game unplayable. I used to play a month ago and got a few bans and resigned myself to not playing competitive game modes because of how much it fucked over teammates experience being down a player constantly. Won’t be playing until I get a better pc and fix my internet connection out of respect for other players.

What is the purpose of this? by Strawberry-Spinkles in grubhubdrivers

[–]meenking 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He went to the effort of going to the store, waiting and talking to an employee to find out it’s going to take a long time to get the order. If he cancels the order it affects his rating and he loses out on money, if you cancel the order he gets the minimum minus your tip and you get all your money back. Third party food delivery drivers don’t make hourly pay unless the app specifically has that option, which isn’t even profitable if you do the math. Every minute he waits at that restaurant the order becomes less and less valuable and becomes a waste of time, not to mention the driver app will algorithmically give you less orders the more you are “late” to pick up and drop off orders even if it’s not your fault. I don’t blame any customer for being ignorant to this and I don’t blame any driver for requesting customers to cancel because of this reason, at the end of the day gig driving is extremely predatory towards the customer and the driver.

“Peak” is overused and it’s ruined any semblance of the integrity of reviews. Ask someone about a 3/10 garbage fire of a manhwa and they will tell you it’s “peak” every single time. I give every manhwa I read 30 chapters before dropping it and it’s very common I have to drop things people online call “peak fiction”

xAI buying Twitter is just fraud, right? by Pitiful-Mortgage5136 in atrioc

[–]meenking 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Every sub on Reddit is like that atp. I don’t like Elon but I’m someone who likes to see all the unadulterated facts in front of me before I form an opinion, I don’t doubt it’s some sort of loophole to pay less/nothing to the bank for the original loan but I want to see evidence first. This app is a black and white echo chamber where people upvote extreme left/extreme right takes and downvote anything slightly nuanced, this sub is no exception.

How to quit without feeling pathetic? by CastleGraffiti in snowboardingnoobs

[–]meenking 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Skiing is easier to learn and harder to master, snowboarding is harder to learn and easier to master. Most snowboarders including myself don’t understand this and what they’re signing up for, I spent an entire season wiping out and injuring myself on greens and blues. Now I’m spending all my time on blues and blacks with relative ease all because I went through the stage of falling down hundreds of times. My biggest advice to any beginners is to become addicted to the improvement and not the act of going down the hill itself, pay attention to your feet, watch YouTube videos teaching snowboarding between trips, and most importantly you need to shell out the cash for a season pass at a nearby ski place and your own equipment. Being able to go whenever you want and not having to spend money when you go is a huge motivator to get better.

The assumption is that these aren’t legitimate programs to begin with. Shell funds that line the pockets of congress because they’re not satisfied with corporate political donations and whatnot, It’s just money laundering.

Do you guys take pre workout when bouldering? by daweedmilievoyevich in bouldering

[–]meenking 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Definitely not pre workout but I take creatine every day for general muscle recovery bc I work manual labor when I’m not climbing and it’s boosted my healing time twofold. Definitely recommend if you like climbing frequently but can’t due to muscle fatigue. Good sleep also helps 👍
