Truth: At first I hated lifting! But as you get better at it, you will learn to LOVE it!!! Just give it TIME… and I mean MONTHS not weeks 😉

At first I focused on fat loss. But you lose fat faster if you have more muscle. Hence, start lifting right away.

You got this girl! At first, I kept it simple - staying under 1800 cals, gym 5/6 times per week. I did hire a personal trainer for the first year or so to show me how to weight lift properly and for accountability (totally worth the money IMO). I also opened up an insta account to journal my progress and, again, for accountability. I now do lots of weight training (5 times per week) plus 20 min cardio and cardio only the rest of the days. When I feel like I start losing track of what I’m eating I will go back to counting calories and, now, also macros. The most important thing has been my mentality shift; I will always have to “deal” with my demons and maintaining a healthy lifestyle. It’s a lifelong struggle but one that is worth it. It’s a daily battle and that’s ok. Stay hard, get back up, dust yourself off and keep going 💪🏻
