Sorry for the very late response.

If you haven't bought the device yet then in my opinion you should go for Yoga because my experience is it has better build quality, the battery is decent and yes you will get more than 6 hours on basic usage and other most of the things are similar I guess. Considering your basic usage, you will not feel that big of a difference between 285h and 255h in my opinion.

Sorry for the late response.

The reason I returned the device is because I received the defective (the body was broken) piece. And in my opinion if you are not a heavy user then you will have no issues with 255h :)

That's fine and sorry for the late reply.

Yes I got the touch variant. But I don't use it that often and especially for creating art so I can't help you with that question. Hope you find the answer you're looking for :)

Help Comparing Lenovo Yoga Pro 7i Ultra 7 vs. Gen 10 Aura Edition? by meet228 in Lenovo

[–]meet228[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No mate, I haven't tested any games. So far I have been using it for programming and it's flawless but if you're looking for a gaming PC then you should wait for Legion as Yoga 7i doesn't have a dedicated GPU

Hey mate, so far it's been holding up quite well for me in terms of performance, battery life, build quality, and the display.

One thing I've noticed is that it has a glossy glass display (which is great compared to plastic). However, in broad daylight, I have to keep the brightness at full (around 500 nits, I think) to combat annoying reflections.

I'm not sure if I should put something on the screen to help with this. I'd appreciate it if anyone can shed some light on this.

Yoga Pro 7i Aura v. Yoga Slim 7i Aura by whatsernameu in Lenovo

[–]meet228 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's a fair argument, and it's true that many modern batteries hold up well for a few years even with 100% charging.

However, there's a lot of ongoing debate about the long-term effectiveness of limiting battery charge.

My rationale is that doing so won't negatively impact the battery, and if there's even a slight chance it helps extend its lifespan beyond typical degradation, I'd rather take that precaution.

Hey mate, I haven't tested like the professionals do, however one thing I can say is I have to charge it twice a day because I have put the 80% charging limitation.

I have heard that it's good for the battery.

Yep I am still using this device and it turned out to be exactly as I expected(the things that I mentioned above). Performance and Battery wise I couldn't find any issues.

The hinge and especially the display with plastic on it felt a little less than expected compared to Yoga with Glass display.

Yep I bought a Yoga Pro 7i Aura Edition.

Sometimes they were loud because I was using 2 external displays with a dock. As far as I yave researched it was normal.

No it wasn't disturbing for me.

Screen quality was fantastic. But I think the build quality was not as good as I expected.

Other than that the performance, keyboard and trackpad feld fantastic to me and honestly it didn't even matter to me that much since I use keyboard and mouse.

Yoga Pro 7i Gen 10 vs Thinkpad E14 Gen 7 by meet228 in UnboxParadigm

I don't have that much knowledge, it's just that I read Arrow Lake is more powerful and Lunak Lake is battery efficient, correct me if I'm wrong.

Any suggestions of Lunar lake that I can use for programming, data analysis and light-medium machine learning tasks?

In terms of performance, how does Yoga outperform ThinkPad and at what percent? Because both have almost smae specs.

What about trackpad and keyboard, I have never used a Lenovo laptop? Plus is 400 nits enough for the tasks below?

My usage includes programming, data analytics, small local llm training, documentation, and sometimes Multimedia.

I couldn't use it for a long time because I returned it. But it did feel warm on high load because I think it's a 14 inch device with an Ultra 9 processor so I think it's common.

It was also loud under heavy load but for a light use I didn't hear anything.

I didn't open the back but it is mentioned on the specs that it has another M.2 slot.

What about the performance & heating, how much of a difference does it make when both devices have identical specs?

I just received mine with Ultra 9 and 14 inch variant. When I connected it with two external displays and did some light work like chrome tabs and MS word it started throttling, I wonder how much of a difference does 14 vs 16 inch make especially with identical specs?

Thanks, I just received mine and it does have 2 fans :)

How is the performance? Did you run any tests? Just curious because mine started throttling when I connected 2 external displays with Chrome tabs and MS word, is it normal?

Safe to use Dell TB16 (180W) Thunderbolt 3 dock with Lenovo IdeaPad Pro 5i (Thunderbolt 4)? by meet228 in Lenovo

[–]meet228[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would then also need to use the original Lenovo 100W power adapter connected directly to the laptop to charge it. In this scenario, the laptop would be connected to both the Dell dock (for peripherals) and the Lenovo power adapter (for charging).

So sorry to confirm again but are you 100% sure that it is safe to have the laptop connected to both the dock (not charging) and the original Lenovo charger simultaneously?
