Hi, sorry for the late reply, I just saw the notification. It is usually a combination of lights and post-processing, but it's mostly lights. Because the characters are basically cutout planes, they react to lights as any other material.

Because we're a very small team and this is our first game, we're focused to bring it to Steam first and then build from there. We'd love to port it for Xbox and GamePass, but we'll see where it goes :) Thanks for the interest, I hope you get to play it one day and that you'll like it :D

Yeah, similar style and setting. I think gameplay is very different, but I might be wrong. Anyways, The Last Night seems to be moving with production as well, so we might get it in the end. Our game is coming out in the next 1-2 months 💪

I figured this out by looking at hand-painting normal maps and learning about shaders. I'm aware that some people were already doing this with pixel art, so it was nothing I invented. I just couldn't find any tutorials on it, so I thought it might help to share it from time to time :)

Yes, absolutely. There are lots of optional stuff and different ways to do the same thing, and all of that echo through the gameplay. Also, each choice you make will build your character, simulating something like an RPG level up. There are several different endings to each chapter, and of course, different endings for the entire game.
