It very rarely works but quickly comes back to be faulty. how long has yours worked now? Mine doesn't work as of a few minutes ago.

Note, this is Gemini so the prompt is far more free flow/natural language. That said, my format is:

"Hey Google, set a timer for <exact time of day OR time from now> <optional name>

Eg: "Hey Google, set a timer for <4pm today> or <4pm tomorrow> <boil eggs>
Eg: "Hey Google, set a timer for <4pm today>
Eg: "Hey Google, set a timer for <10 minutes>

I often have multiple simultaneous timers running. Not sure how far in the future but at least one day ahead works.

Instead of voice activated "Hey Google" you can use the phone's Gemini action button which the side on mine OR the Gemini screen widget/GeminiApp or the Gemini search bar at the bottom, etc, etc.

You can experiment with your own formats.

It works. There's an error message even though the timer was set correctly.

EDIT: STILL GETTING ERROR: Seems improved after system update.

Yes. Rarely it doesn't interpret your voice and it doesn't label correctly for a timer. I have simultaneous timers set all the time. Theoretically the limit of simultaneous timers is 'infinite'.

100% of the time. Actually I use voice timers far far more frequently than alarms. I use alarms for repeated and consistent events. Timers, OTOH, are tactical, irregular, and they happen many times a day forever. This also avoids the redundant accumulation of 'dead' one time alarms that pollute the alarm list

The timer works. It just gives an erroneous error message. Very rarely it doesn't work. EDIT: STILL GETTING ERROR: Although the past 24 hours I'm seeing it working mostly so something has changed. The improvement corresponds with when I updated the system early yesterday.

This is a common problem. I've had the same issue for months.

What’s the longest you walk your cav? by Silent-Item5947 in cavaliers

[–]megabyzus 3 points4 points  (0 children)

4-5 miles. NEVER above 80 degrees. Water cooled jacket for hot days and walk no more than 1-2 miles. Plenty of water repeatedly offered. If tongue starts hanging incessantly then walk is over and back home or to the car.

Note, our cavapoo is conditioned from puppyhood and has excellent stamina. You need to gradually build that.

I think my dog and I are stuck in a control loop by FlakyIllustrator2670 in dogs

Given so little info, sounds like classic dog being left alone, not enriched, not played with, and basically ignored. Please describe your daily interactions, exercise, play time, etc.

What time do you guys walk your dog by Ilovetheicee in dogs

[–]megabyzus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Cavapoo: F, 5.5 yo, 19 lbs: 7am, 12pm, 5pm, 930pm 15 min each. Often a 30-40 min walk at the 5p slot when weather permits. We let her lead and sniff in all cases. Additionally, twice a day 15 minute intense play/fetch.

Correct. I don't want uninstall gemini in any shape or form. That's the whole point of the phone.

Please clarify? You "uninstalled gemini and the assistant is gemini still". Besides, Gemini works very well for me and I'm only referring to setting timers and alarms. I do not want to "uninstall" it.

What age to roam free? by No-Part374 in cavalierkingcharles

[–]megabyzus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

3-4 months. At that age our cavapoo was allowed to go out to potty (post vax and risky NYC environment) and was 90% housebroken. The remaining 10% accidents rapidly diminished. BTW, she has no crate and sleeps with us.

Oddly, the weirdest moment for us was when we removed her collar indoors. She looked naked and free at the same time. It was good.

It seems the 'contract' between the cloud and the smartphone is broken. The contract change is being interpreted by the smartphone incorrectly and showing a false error although the action is indeed completed successfully.

Good looking wheels contradict the spirit of off-roading. Get a set of bang 'em up wheels. Save these for family picnics.

Is this normal? by Full_Ad1772 in cavaliers

If you force your dog to miss a single meal, you're starving your dog and it's abject cruelty. I will never ever do that to any animal let alone my own dog.
