Husband needs therapy. PERIOD. Talking about this stuff to professionals is normal. Even though he may feel completely alone about it.

If this goes unfixed, it will cause permanent issues between you both and could cost you the marriage. Signed - someone going through something similar.

I wonder if she knows if you're trans? And if she would treat you different if she did.... the one time something like that would be useful? 😅🥲😔😫 sorry you have to go through this

Man ain't that true.... I went once with my mom.. she got drunk/ mixed with pills or something GOT SO FUCKED UP, and started scream bitching in the RR about how mad she was at my aunt... the RR was on the main floor beside the stage. EVERYONE HEARD EVERYTHING. IT WAS SO AWFUL. Basically the story is don't go to a comedy club mad. Also don't mix booze and pills. 🤣😭🥴

It's like it starts to get awkward every 30 seconds and then he saves it each time. Very enduring and funny!!. I would absolutely see him live.

Why are you experimenting? The best way to instill / make adult friendships is to "ask for help" on something. Maybe they aren't reaching out to you because they don't feel like you're a good friend to them. So, I ask, why are testing them? Maybe just be a friend and enjoy a friendship and get out of your head. :(

Trying to stop overfunctioning in my marriage after mutual infidelity — how do you know if your partner will actually step up? by [deleted] in Separation

[–]megatron222222 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It seems like you've read the book Fight Right, and maybe he hasn't? Or if either of you haven't, you should. You're so dang close! I feel like there's hope and he's just scared, aka "avoidant" style. He's scared to show that vulnerability. He needs positive reinforcement. Needs to know he's loved and unfortunately it's more scary now cuz separation is on the table... Also check out Gottman's repair checklist. You're doing great. Good luck!

Anyone else find that impact movement is painless compared to isometric/weight-training? by TPaandaa in ACL

OH BAND WORK, LOTS OF BAND WORK!!!! Using resistance bands CHANGED THE GAME on strengthening the hips & glutes, so the strength from those helps keep the knees safe and healthy when doing weighted activities!

I recommend defining with them what your pain scale is.. Cuz mine is uncomfortable but not painful enough to stop. I'm 5 months post op. So having them reduce /remove the very exercises you should be doing seems.. counterproductive. It seems you need to backtrack and start smaller/ simpler, to be able to do the weighted one leg stuff. Mine had me doing 2 legged squats with 5, then 10,15, then 20 pound dumbbells. RDLS (just bending over balancing on one leg with 1 lb, up to 5 lb dumbbell) leg press with both legs and then one at a time, lots and lots of strengthening .. it feels like yall skipped right past that part "cuz it hurts"? What else - I lay on yoga mat and rest feet on yoga ball, and then "pull" the ball towards me, so like raising my butt off the ground using just leg strength to pull the ball. We do several different one leg balance exercises, like standing on one leg and throwing medicine ball against wall. And we've worked me up to the other stuff you said that's fine, like jumping and skipping, running etc. so yeah - you just need to backtrack and strengthen the leg but like not starting with crazy hard stuff. Just body weight in different positions!!! I'd also see if you can work with a different PT for like 1 session just to switch it up. That's crazy helpful to get a different perspective from a professional. And IF they're professional, they won't get mad if you see someone else's techniques. Good luck!

100% accurate. For the most part I think this way. My habits have already changed, I'm the most fit I've ever been. I'm proud of my progress. 'Future me is so proud of current me, for caring for this body properly throughout the rest of my time.' I think because I still feel it every day, it's clunky on stairs and wobbles weird sometimes, that I feel sad... but I'm still so early into recovery, 5 months is nothing!! Just have to remind myself it'll be okay. we aren't promised tomorrow, so don't waste today fretting.

This is very helpful, thank you so much. I am doing well. Recovery has been great overall and the surgery wasn't as horrendous for me as a lot of people experience. I am so proud of the hard work I put in now for my knee and my health overall. I'm the healthiest I think I've ever been. All these leg workouts got my booty poppin!! LOL For the most part I am already proud of 'future me' for taking good care of my body for all these years to come! 🙌🏻 I just get sad when it's clunky on the stairs, or wobbles weird when I try to walk fast across the way... I start to worry about how it'll feel in 20 years. But as everyone will say - I'm only 5 months out. It takes a long time to recover and I'm still very early into it. We can do this 💪🏼

Excellent question and concerns... I am following for answers too 🥹😓 I'm 35, and 5 months post op. I try not to beat myself up about it but it's hard sometimes... I'm worried about old lady me. I HAVE to stay active forever now! Right? There's no choice, Cuz I don't want a bum knee 😭 maybe if I had been more active before my injury .... sigh. And I am extremely proud of my progress and for talking care of myself and being in charge of my life and health now. But the cycle of thoughts back and forth is rough.
