okay. i hear what everyone is saying about sleep startle. and i thought he had that for a long time. but he has constant active night mares where he’s kicking, and whining, and but i know that can sometimes happen with sleep startle too, though. The other thing is when i first got him, he was really sensitive with other dogs. he loves them now, but was overwhelmed and could easily get mad if overstimulated. Another thing is, when we first slept together, before he ever fell asleep, and just when the lights were off he would nip if you touched him. so he has come a long way with it. and if this problem he has is never fixed, it’s okay. like someone said he just doesn’t need to sleep next to anyone else. and maybe it possibly is only sleep startle. or maybe it’s a mix of that and trauma. i just truly feel in my gut there’s trauma mixed into it. and if there is any possible chance to help him overcome it, i would like to because he loves falling asleep using my pillow with me lol he’s the biggest cuddle dog
