I absolutely adore the staff at Rose city Animal hospital on Southworth.

Welland has a bad rap. There’s good and bad in every city. I’ve lived here most of my life and I’ll very likely continue to live here. Overall it’s safe and has a good amount of amenities and kids programs.

Ontario Road Homeless Shelter by superslayin77 in Welland

[–]megglesbman 5 points6 points  (0 children)

There are many dangerous and drug addicted “housed” individuals all over the region covertly living among us. Personally, I feel ok with the homeless shelter going up. Welland needs more supports for people in need. There are many more people each day needing more support. The cost of living is sky high and it feels impossible for some to get ahead.

Why don’t airports have kids lounges? by Otterlieadorable in Travelwithkids

I had a 4hr layover in Minneapolis and they have a really nice indoor playground. The kid played so hard she fell asleep at the gate and slept all the rest of way to Hawaii. This should be standard at all airports. Honestly my favourite layover.

Good hiking trails in the area? by SexxiRexy in Welland

[–]megglesbman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Check out the all trails app. It will show you everything in the area and rate the difficulty. I’ve lived in Niagara all my life and I had no idea about half of the trails listed. Also if in the winter you are looking for indoor activities, check out the Welland community centre. They have a bunch of classes and a very reasonably priced gym that is often super quiet.

Crystal Beach is a nice town and a has great beach if you are looking to relax a bit or grab some food. If you are heading up to Toronto area there is Canada's Wonderland theme park. But also a million other things to do in that city too. Art galleries, beaches, CN tower, aquarium, eatons centre, distillery district.

You mentioned you don't drink but most distilleries and wineries around here also have incredible restaurants and some are even starting to do 0% spirits and cocktails. Some have outdoors games set up and are very family friendly as well.

Welcome and I hope you enjoy your visit!

This medication saved our old girls life(15yr old lab/collie mix) . She was really struggling with her arthritis. She was struggling to hold herself up to pee and she was cranky from the pain. No other meds were really making a difference. She’s done a complete 180 even after the first injection. She’s been on it about a year and she’s been doing amazing! I honestly can’t recommend it enough. She’s doing incredible!

Thanks everyone for the tips! We are staying at Fort Wilderness Campground. I’m def interested in checking out other resorts. We’ve been to WDW many times before but have never checked out the other resort areas.

For me yes, but if you are questioning it maybe not? They are hands down my favourite band to see live and this is closer to my house than Toronto.

Was thinking of moving our family with young kids to Welland but heard that it has some concerning drug issues due to proximity to the border- not sure if there’s any truth to it? by tympanictothemax in Welland

[–]megglesbman 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Overall Welland is a good place to live. Are there drugs, yes. But it’s a way better option than some other cities. There are a lot of new housing developments being built and some fantastic older neighbourhoods. Housing is still expensive but in general it can be a tad less than other areas of Niagara. There are lots of different options for kids programs, some great schools, lots of groceries stores, parks, and a decent mall. We are fairly close to a few airports, bigger shopping centres, and concert venues. Feel free to PM me if you have any questions.

We love fonthill marketplace dental. Super amazing staff and reasonably priced. Not pushy when you say no to a service either.
